They exchanged varmalas in a vineyard in South Africa - needless to say, Shruti and Jai's wedding was an intimate affair heady with beauty and bonding.
They clicked when they first met online and from there, their friendship evolved into romance. Shruti and Jai chose to get married in an unusual location for a destination Indian wedding – South Africa. How We Met
Shruti shares, “Our story started with a dating app. Jai and I weren’t looking for anything serious when we found each other but love had other plans! We hit it off while chatting and decided to meet soon after. Since then, we’ve never looked back. Fast forward to almost two years of such endless conversations and dates, and here we are now, man and wife!”
Wedding Venue
“Away from the expectations that typically follow a ‘Big Fat Indian Wedding’, we hosted our nuptials among the picturesque vineyards in Stellenbosch, South Africa. Both, Jai and I looked forward to a happy, intimate affair and that’s exactly what we got! We couldn’t have made a better choice,” shares Shruti.
Wedding Planning
The location – South Africa – itself set this wedding apart from most other Indian destination weddings. And with Just Jack Weddings & Events by their side to help with the planning, the couple did just fine in a new country! They trusted Dotdusk for capturing their cherished moments. Shruti has immense experience in makeup, and has made up many brides over the years. For her wedding, she did her own bridal makeup and looked stunning. Her hair was styled by Vogue Hair Design.
Wedding Functions
Haldi
The wedding festivities kickstarted with haldi ceremonies on both sides of the families. The smearing of yellow turmeric paste on Shruti and Jai resulted in moments of fun and laughter and the pictures are proof of the deep bonding and emotions present at this special event.
Wedding
Who doesn’t love boho weddings? With the scenic background of clear skies and lush vineyards, the couple’s nuptials were all about beauty and serenity. Both wore pastel ensembles for the ceremony to match the floral decor. After exchanging vows, Shruti and Jai exchanged garlands and participated in traditional Indian rituals.
Reception
An evening of love, laughter, toasts, and rounds of cheers, the couple’s reception was truly happening! As the newlyweds put on their comfortable ensembles and dance shoes, the young and old let loose and created memories that will last a lifetime.
