Haldi
Zashank Bhatia from TailorMade Experiences shares, “Shruti wanted a gorgeous yellow Haldi event with a floral shower over the sea of guests while Shayaun and she stood out in white. We swathed the entire venue in marigolds, and the venue looked extremely cheerful indeed! Additionally, Shruti wore a corset embroidered by her mother for the occasion which took nine arduous months of stitching.”

Welcome Dinner
Shashank Gupta from TailorMade Experiences shares, “The welcome dinner was elegant and showed off the beauty of the venue along with Indian art. The bride was especially thrilled with the line-up of Hindustani musicians who serenaded the guests as they tucked into Rajasthani delicacies. Friends and family took turns ringing a bell to toast the couple and share stories of Shruti, Shayaun, and their families’ journey so far.”

Mehndi
Zashank recollects, “The Mehndi resembled a music festival-meets-a-desi-mela! The couple’s love for music festivals was showcased at this event where the DJ mixed popular mehndi classics with EDM and the colors of an Indian mela blended with the funky prints of music festivals. The colors were punctuated by color cannons which was a big surprise for the couple. After some pani-puri eating contests, all guests took to different activities like cricket, camel riding and flying kites.

Sangeet
The Sangeet night decor sported an Arabian Night theme with its beauty accentuated by the palatial arches. Shashank shares, “Shruti was surprised by family members’ dance performances, most of whom had tricked her into thinking they wouldn’t perform. Shruti, a dancer since childhood, relived her favorite dance numbers in her solo performance.” On an unconventional note, the baraat was hosted on the sangeet night itself led by the bride! Here, there was no one side. It was the entire wedding party reveling together with Shruti spearheading the procession.

Wedding
For the Wedding, the decor was inspired by vintage Indian paintings. Zashank shares, “Shruti’s vision for the Wedding started with the painting of Lakshmi on a lotus. She surprised her parents and guests by arranging a photo booth with one of the oldest cameras in operation, which happens to be in Jaipur City near Hawa Mahal. The ceremony was a homage to her Tamil Brahmin heritage, with South Indian musicians playing as she arrived on a lotus phoolon ki chaddar. Ending with a South Indian banana leaf lunch, Shruti and Shayaun exchanged their first meal as a married couple. A traditional kaasi yatra ritual was also hosted by the couple. The wedding conjoined Tamil Iyer and Sindhi traditions.” Shashank shares, “ This wedding along with the couple and their families were special to us because we’ve been with them for over two years during the uncertain pandemic times. Apart from the decor and planning elements, our entire team along with the culinary team put in alot of thought when it came to crafting a memorable culinary experience.”
