Slobodanka and Ansh, Turkey

This enchanting Indo-Serbian wedding was celebrated across two destinations and put together in just a matter of three months.

Hailing from two completely different cultures, Slobodanka and Ansh planned a dreamy Serbian wedding in Serbia, followed by a big fat Indian wedding at the Titanic Mardan Palace in Turkey. This extravagant Indo-Serbian wedding experience was brilliantly planned and executed on a very short notice. Wedding Venue
The first destination choice for the Serbian wedding was an obvious one – Belgrade, Slobodanka’s hometown in Serbia. For the Indian wedding, the couple wanted a lush green venue with an ocean view. The splendid property of the Titanic Mardan Palace Hotel in Antalya, Turkey had both. The couple fell instantly in love with this location when they explored it.

Wedding Planning
Slobodanka shared, “Ansh and I are both working professionals, and so, time is a luxury which both of us are short on. Also, unlike any single-location wedding, shuttling between countries was no small feat. Not only was this a big fat Indian Wedding, but the addition of it being an equally big Serbian wedding made the job even harder. However, our planners, Chapter 2 Events took away all that stress from us.”

“It was an extremely organized, well-planned and professionally executed wedding. Planning two weddings at two separate locations (two different countries at that!), and with two different cultures involved isn’t easy. It could have been a nightmare. Luckily Kunal stepped in and we could simply take a back seat and enjoy our own wedding as guests,” she added.

Slobodanka shared how she felt overwhelmed with all the colors, varieties and intricacies of Indian wedding attire. She shared, “I come from a completely different background where wedding dresses are white and there is only one outfit you need. I do not have words to express my gratitude to Meha and her team at Styl.Inc for helping me with what seemed like an impossible task. She not only introduced me to the vibrant culture and fashion but also let me choose without letting me be overwhelmed,” she added.

The bride was all praise for their photography team of CineLove Productions. She shared, “We as a couple are awkward when it comes to posing or PDA in general. But Sagar and his team at CineLove made us feel relaxed and comfortable. Despite our apprehensions of giving him candid shots and poses, he managed to surprise us with an exceptional outcome. I think they’re brilliant in what they do if they can manage to make us look this amazing!”

Wedding Functions

Serbian Wedding
The wedding ceremonies kicked off with a dreamy Christian wedding ceremony in the bride’s hometown in Belgrade, Serbia. Under the dazzling fairy-lights, the beautiful couple exchanged their vows. The bride was a true vision in a stunning white flowy gown while her groom looked dapper by her side in a sleek tailored white tuxedo.

Haldi and Mehndi
The Haldi ceremony was essentially a Holi party with colors, water, music and most importantly – turmeric. The couple started the celebration with prayers and the ritual of applying the Haldi paste.

Decorated in hues of yellow and orange, the haldi ceremony had a floral vibe to it. The bride dressed in a bright yellow lehenga with a white embroidered top and dupatta, while the groom sportingly complimented her outfit with a vibrant yellow kurta and an embroidered Nehru jacket.

After the haldi ceremony, the bride and guests got henna applied on their hands under the canopy setups by the azure blue sea and cool breeze.

Sangeet
The theme for the Sangeet ceremony was ‘Fire & Ice’. Exotic and fiery performances were lined up for guests with professional fire artists from Turkey. The guests were floored by the performances. This was followed by joyful performances by family and friends of the couple.

While the bride dressed in a multi-colored lehenga with delicate mirror work, the groom donned a classy black and white tux.

Indian Wedding
The wedding was a showcase of Indian traditions mixed with touches of Turkish entertainment. The groom was led in a convertible followed by Indian dhol walas and a Turkish band along with folk artists. The bride made an exceptional entry in a Palki while traditional Indian songs played in the background. The mandap with a dome and floral decor was set up on the beach with a mesmerising backdrop of the crystal clear Mediterranean sea and a clear blue sky.

Slobodanka chose a captivating heavily embroidered emerald green lehenga choli and dupatta by Anita Dongre. She accessorized her look with a gorgeous gold and emerald gala bandh, bangles and a maang tikka. Ansh donned an ivory sherwani embellished with golden embroidery along with a regal golden Safa and emerald jewellery to match the bride.
