Soumya Trivedi and Kushagra Patel, St Regis, Goa
From a Moroccan-Persian Sufi night to a Moulin Rouge Sangeet, with after-parties inspired by Tulum, neon vibes, and NYX Mayfair—this wedding was a global celebration like no other!
When they decided to tie the knot Soumya Trivedi and Kushagra Patel knew that their St Regis, Goa, wedding had to offer something different to their guests. “We wanted each event to feel completely different—like you were stepping into a new experience every time—but still very ‘us’. Each function had its own vibe, but we always wanted the decor to feel elegant, thoughtful, and immersive,” says Soumya. WeddingSutra Favorite – VLW Global brought to life each detail perfectly.
Wedding Planning
Shruti Tiwari of VLW Global says, “The client wanted something different for each event that stood out. So, for the Sufi Night, we explored African culture, and for the sangeet Paris of the 1900s.”
Wedding Functions
Sufi Night
For The Sufi night, the couple wanted something mystical and magical inspired by both the grand bazaar of Istanbul and the Moroccan spice market. And so, they explored Africa taking inspiration from the fact that Morocco is part of the African continent. Rich, deep colors, lanterns, spices, fruits, miniature camels and plentiful textiles were part of the décor, taking inspiration from the Middle East. At the entrance was an antique store along with the spice market and a Karibu sign which means welcome in Swahili. Unmissable was the huge carpet chandelier that was created, adding a touch of whimsy and extravagance to the occasion.

Haldi
The couple wanted a recreation of the Italian coast. So, the team at VLW Global, recreated the lemon grove from Sorrento, for the cover of the cabanas. The Bougainville canopies for the entry came from Ravello, blue and yellow tiles of Amalfi were reflected in the fabrics and coasters. And the classic Positano ceramic figurines in traditional yellow and blue colour were used as the table decor.

Sangeet
The mood was the Parisian Cabaret – Moulin Rouge, and included a heart stage with bulbs and even a giant red windmill. The decor evoked a sense of drama, romance, decadence with a touch of vintage Parisian charm. Imagine deep reds, velvet drapes, and black and gold accents everywhere. The highlight of the event was the beautiful bar which was created using velvet drapes.

Wedding
The hues and décor of the wedding, was kept soft, romantic and minimal so that the natural beauty of the beach could be highlighted. There were a lot of soft florals and pastels that made the ceremony seem dreamy. So decor mainly considered of gypsophila and crystals. The colour theme was mainly white with hint of pink and lavender. The couple had evening pheres so that they could watch the sky change colors as they made a forever promise.

After Parties
There were not one, not two, but three! And each had a different look.
For the first, the theme was Tulum as Kushagra really loves Tulum. The brief was to recreate the Tulum vibe back in Goa. So everything from the Mayan culture, the Macrame ropes, cane and ceramic artifacts, the beige colour theme all had to be recreated. The highlight was a giant elephant right at the entry and a caged DJ console and dance floor right in the middle of the room.
The second after party was based on an AI image the couple saw on Pinterest, called Becky and the bots. The décor theme was neon, beads, eyes and lips theme. The highlight was the Eyes Don’t Lie Bar.
And the third (and final) after party was pure bling with the vibe of NYX Mayfair, complete with red and blacks, and mirrors.
