Breezy yet traditional, Sudhakshina Shivkumar, a baker and Dheeraj Girijan, a businessman and DJ’s wedding under the sunny Dubai sky was a luxurious one. Be it the vivid Sangeet or the serene Wedding ceremony, every event at their union was meticulously planned by WeddingSutra Favorite – OH! So Desi Events.
Wedding Planning
When it came to planning their contemporary pre-wedding celebrations along with the traditional wedding, the couple turned towards Oh! So Desi Events who keenly understood their vision and amplified it with their own creativity. Right from the quirky Sangeet to the fusion Wedding that witnessed the merging of two rich cultures, every event was orchestrated thoughtfully keeping the couple and their families’ preferences in mind.

Sangeet
Jyoti Jalan Kohli from OH! So Desi Events shares, “The couple was very keen on a pop-art themed Sangeet which steered clear of the usual setups! The sundowner event had pop art incorporated into the decor thoroughly right from the DJ’s booth to the photo booth along with the couple’s customised logos. Plus, we also incorporated a cake baked by the bride into the decor along with various other candies and lollipops. The duo made an entry dancing to the beats of the Dhol followed by their entire family. The menu was specifically curated with only live stations to incorporate food that the bride and groom loved.” Safe to say, the event was punctuated by stunning performanceschoreographed by the groom’s sisters, but it was the bride that stole the show with their incredible belly Dance Performance.
Wedding
It was a fusion Wedding with the bride hailing from Tamil Nadu and the groom from Kerala. A swing ceremony kicked off the celebrations and the guests were treated to a sadya lunch where food was served on banana leaves. Jyoti goes on to share, “Sudakshina and Dheeraj’s wedding incorporated several traditional elements like wedding bells, marigolds and palm trees. Adding to the traditional vibe were the tunes of the Nadaswaram.”
