A red-carpet entry, a series of retro-inspired performances and celebrity doppelgangers - this couple hosted a grand Bollywood Night to celebrate their wedding.
Embracing the flavours of different cultures and amping up the grandeur, Aalisha Agrawal, a fashion designer and Harshit Aggarwal’s wedding was a cheery affair! Spearheading the festivities with their expertise in planning and designing was WeddingSutra Favorite – Bhoomi Events & Planners.
Wedding Planning
The couple shares, “Though our families were Marwari, we had a very different vision for our wedding festivities. We along with our families wanted a big fat Marwari wedding, our guestlist was very huge so we wanted to give everyone an array of larger-than-life memories to cherish.
For our wedding, we trusted the Bhoomi Events & Planners team to plan and design our wedding. And, they did an amazing job in designing an event flow which enhanced the joy and gave everyone a spell-binding experience for three days.”
Adding a dash of energy to the celebration was WeddingSutra Favorite – DJ Alex who with his beats kept everyone grooving on the dancefloor.
Wedding Functions
Welcome Lunch
Aalisha shares, “Kicking off the festivities was The Welcome Lunch, in which the family arrived in 60 cars together at the venue inspired by the Bollywood movie ‘Chennai Express’ dressed in Kasavu dhotis. They were greeted by Chenda Melam drummers and kathakali artists.”
Bollywood Night
Harshit shares, “The planning team designed a Bollywood-style ‘red-carpet entry experience’ for the guests which also had paparazzi artists on the sidelines to add to the thrill. We had celebrity doppelgangers, ‘retro to metro’ concept acts and performances, a game of musical housie and a DJ to keep everyone’s spirits high.”
Carnival
Dinesh Pandya from Bhoomi Events & Planners shares, “The next morning, we planned a carnival function with fresh pastel hues, refreshing textures, and unique props to create a memorable occasion. The bride and groom matched with a lilac-toned outfit and a matching pair of Jordans. The couple entered the venue dancing along with the carnival artist’s troupe. The DJ took over with a ‘Drum Circle Session’ for which 100 drums were made available for the guests to play.”
Sangeet
Dinesh shares, “In the evening, the glamor quotient was at an all-time high with a glitzy sangeet. In a unique interpretation of the popular sangeet theme, the blue decor included an installation of MI Bar lights at the entrance tunnel, bar and ceiling. For the couple’s entry, the whole venue was blacked out and a laser show was performed. Additionally, we had the liquid drummers and we designed a ‘Devil & Angel-themed’ act for the couple’s entry which included professional dancers, lots of pyros and SFX making it a blockbuster entry!”
Punjabi Party
Aalisha shares, “The next day started with a fun-filled Punjabi Party adorned with vibrant hues and ethnic motifs which resulted in an event that exuded desi vibes with a dash of quirk. I, especially, had a gala time shaking my kaleerein on top of my lovely bridesmaids who clamored to catch one!”
Wedding
For the wedding, nothing was left to chance as the planning team pulled all the stops. Dinesh shares, “Right from a concert baraat, themed acts, dazzling entries for the bride and groom with professional dancers, and a magical Varmala -the celebration was as grand as it could be. The Wedding ceremony was a royal affair in red and gold with the perfect blend of tradition and opulence. Rich floral arrangements of red roses, rajnigandha and elements in gold decked the outdoor venue, accentuating the natural beauty of the space. We designed this grand concept keeping in mind the couple’s brief as they wanted it to be as royal as it could be. The pair walked through the ramp and exchanged varmala and we had pandits from Rishikesh performing the Ganga Aarti. Tons of pyros, dry ice and synchronized fireworks made it look nothing less than a dream come true.”
