Aashna and Anshul, Chandigarh
He wanted low-key, she wanted lavish! Read how this couple planned their nuptials to include both preferences.
When it came to a vision for their wedding festivities, Aashna and Anshul had contrasting thoughts. But the duo quickly formulated a plan of action and with the expert planning skills of Rudra Events & Wedding Planners they managed to include the best of both worlds – minimalistic accents for Anshul and larger than life elements for Aashna at each function.
Photographed by WeddingSutra Favorite – Vows and Tales who used their skill behind the lens to capture every moment and emotion beautifully, this wedding was a joyful and vibrant affair.
Describing their process behind planning the wedding, Aashna shares, “Both of us had different ideas about the kind of wedding we wanted. Anshul wanted something simple and minimalistic, whereas I was looking for something that was grand and looked straight out of a Dharma movie! But together, we worked it all out and decided to strike a balance between our contrasting visions. Ultimately, the ensembles, ambience, and food were on the luxurious and lavish side, and the invitations, themes and designs were minimalistic as per Anshul’s sensibilities. Rudra Events & Wedding Planners were extremely professional and ensured that everything was planned to perfection and not a single detail was missed. On the photography front, we chose Vows and Tales who gave us stunning results. Working with them was extremely comfortable as they were flexible, punctual, and made sure that no one felt camera shy. Makeup artists Amanat Gill and Ojas Rajani made me feel like a princess with their skills.”
Taking a traditional route, the mehndi function saw vibrant decor elements in the form of bright orange marigolds that reflected the vivacious personality of the bride. There was a cheery ambiance as the ladies got henna patterns applied on their hands and exchanged friendly banter, after which they showed off their palms for the camera.
Hosted at the JW Marriott Hotel Chandigarh, the engagement witnessed everyone turning up in stylish ensembles to witness Anshul and Aashna exchange rings. She looked stunning in an exquisite Manish Malhotra creation, while he complimented her in his black velvet bandhgala.
With a gold patterned backdrop, the wedding was a plush affair. Looking splendid in a wine red lehenga with intricate gold embroidery work, Aashna was the showstopper, while Anshul looked like a contemporary prince in his gold and white sherwani.
