Adela Ostrovsky and Ayush Kapila, The Leela Palace, Udaipur

Using soft hues and packed with plenty of joy, this couple’s Indo-Slovakian destination wedding in Udaipur was breezy and romantic.

Minimalistic with dashes of Indian flavour, gynaecologist Adela Ostrovsky and plastic surgeon Ayush Kapila’s fusion wedding at The Leela Palace, Udaipur was a dreamy one. Effortlessly combining both their cultures, Indian and Slovakian, while ensuring the celebrations went ahead without a hiccup was WeddingSutra Favorite – VLW Global.

Wedding Planning
Shruti Tiwari from VLW Global shares, “The monsoon wedding was hosted with the hope that it wouldn’t pour during the two days of the wedding. Fortunately, our hope manifested and it didn’t rain at all! All in all, the wedding was a minimalistic one without any frills. Aesthetic beauty along with a seamless blend of traditions was a priority.”

Weddings Functions
Mehndi
Shruti from the planning team shares, “The mehndi also doubled up as a Welcome Lunch where the ice was broken as everyone mingled freely. We took help from the local vendors who crafted beautiful marigold-themed decor. Plus, we also welcomed guests with folk music and dance. In the end, everyone went back with lots of giveaways.”

Cocktails
Shruti shares, “The decor theme was Sufi and as it was indoor, the couple wanted to stray clear of LED lights that are usually seen at such events. Hence keeping their brief in mind, we played around with chandeliers and velvets to give the venue a glam look,”

White Wedding
Shruti shares, “The bride wanted to first get married via a white wedding where there was a pastor present to exchange vows. The decor was also kept all white and extremely simple so that the focus was mainly on the couple throughout the ceremony.”

Haldi
The haldi was also kept simple with lots of playful banter to amplify the joy of the union. As the couple sat in large brass urlis, their loved ones had a fun time slathering them in haldi and then dunking them with water!

Indian Wedding
For the Hindu wedding, however, the couple chose to include bright and glamorous hues, “For the phere, we used a round gold dome mandap. Additionally, suspended garlands from the ceiling flanked the chandelier that lit up the mandap. This was then followed up by a celebration dinner where heartfelt speeches were made and a romantic first dance took place.”
