Aditi and Manthan, Grand Hyatt, Mumbai
The journey that started with a nervous smile and a hesitant step reached a happily every after amongst some joyous revelries!
Slap bang in the middle of an ordinary life, love came bursting through the door. Aditi and Manthan were introduced by a friend and let’s just say, #AduFoundHerMan!
The bride tells us all about her wedding.
How We Met
“You could say we had an arranged marriage but the proposal didn’t come via family but through my friend! He was so sure, he even called up my dad without checking with me. There’s a five year age gap and I was slightly hesitant but decided to meet Manthan anyway.
I remember we spoke for 45 minutes and everything was going really well when he abruptly said he had to leave. To me that sounded like a straight ‘no’ from his side. If only I knew how wrong I was! A few days later I got a call from my friend asking me why I said ‘no’ to him! Turned out there were crossed connections on both sides.
He asked me to marry him on our 3rd date, and here we are now, happily married!”
“Given the huge guest list, we knew a destination wedding wouldn’t be feasible. Also, since ours was a summer wedding, we wanted plush indoor locations rather than outdoor gardens or lawns. After visiting many properties in Mumbai, the elegant vibe and ambiance at Grand Hyatt just won our heart!”
“Planning for the big-day was relatively smooth. We had The Wedding House India handling the decor as well as helping us with the revelries. We trusted a family friend, Cinefoto with the cherished wedding captures on film and photographs.”
“For me, the wedding festivities started off with an unforgettable ‘All White’ themed bridal shower. While I personally made the favors for all, my sister surprised me with such remarkable decor! We also had a customized cake by Sweet Tooth that everyone enjoyed till the last crumb.”
“We hosted our mehndi at Status Banquets, Churchgate. While Manthan picked his green and pink outfit from Vimal Pareek, I chose a pista lehenga from Gangore Bridal Studio and paired it with delicate floral jewellery by Style Chakra. The afternoon was an intimate affair with close friends and family having a gala time together!”
“Finally it was the day of the wedding! The breathtaking setting was assembled by The Wedding House India and as for our regal outfits, we had them customized by Sushma Creations. One of my most cherished moments was the varmala! Manthan’s family believes that the couple isn’t supposed to meet for at least 3 days before they tie the knot. So, we saw each other only at the time of the varmala, and so many people told me Manthan had tears in his eyes when he saw me walking towards him! I truly couldn’t have asked for a better life partner!”
“Following the wedding, we hosted our reception at Aqaba. I wore a pastel gown by Riddhi Majithia and matching my outfit with a pocket square, Manthan picked his suit form Just Men.”
“Keep everything arranged beforehand as much as you can but don’t get fazed if there are sudden changes or new plans. Whatever the case, don’t forget to enjoy your big day. You won’t even realize how fast it goes!”
