How they met
Aishwarya shares, “Anoop and I have been friends for at least ten years but we were somehow always in different cities. They say things are meant to happen at the right time and place which turned out to be true in our case. He was living in Hyderabad in 2018 when I happened to move back home from Mumbai right around the festive season. We started to meet every other day, and with several friends in common, we got talking regularly! Although we were young, it felt right and soon we decided to tell our families, who were ecstatic about the news. We dated for more than a year before taking the plunge.”

The Proposal
“Anoop planned a trip for us to the Maldives in October 2020. Vacations by the sea are my absolute favorite, and I was very excited about it. He proposed during sunset one beautiful evening and it couldn’t have been a better surprise proposal!”

They were super accommodating with our last-minute changes and requirements regarding dates and venues and made the entire experience very smooth and memorable”.

Wedding Functions
Mehndi
The festivities started on a fun note with a lively outdoor mehndi ceremony full of activities and enjoyment. Mehndi artists, coconut drinks and more, set a laid back environment, while an earthy decor palette with drapes and arrangements of leaves and pampas grass exuded a boho-chic vibe. The bride sported an edgy structural lehenga in a cool aqua green which the groom duly complimented in a Kurta set from Shantanu and Nikhil.

Pellikuthuru and Pellikoduku
The traditional ceremonies of Pellikuthuru and Pellikoduku held at the bride and groom’s homes were intimate family events with minimal yet charming floral decor and warm family moments. The rituals were followed by lunch and merriment. The bride wore a Banarasi saree from Raw Mango and the groom wore a kurta set from Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla.

Wedding
Aishwarya wanted the wedding ceremony to be a blend of traditional and modern with a lotus theme which was beautifully implemented by the decor team. The serene ceremony saw a lovely pastel palette of pink, white and green, with intricate floral decor that put a delicate contemporary spin on traditional aesthetics, right from the aisle and mandapam to the choir from Tirupati. The bride wore a Kanjeevaram saree from Tulsi Silks which was then embroidered by designer Jayanti Reddy, and the nuptials were quaint, calm and truly memorable.

Advice for couples
“People often say that amidst the stress of planning your own wedding and ensuring that everything goes well, one doesn’t end up having fun at their own wedding. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime occasion and deserves to be enjoyed to the fullest. When the day comes, let go of the stress and focus on enjoying yourself with your friends and family”.
