At Alisha and Sapan’s nuptials, WeddingSutra Favorite – Absolute Events created magic and wonderment all of which was captured and preserved by WeddingSutra Favorite – Mithilesh Choubey Fotografia. Their efficiency and flexibility were matched by their ability to materialise concepts with sophistication and skill. Each function brought to life the couple’s dreams and filled their hearts with delight.
The bride talks to us about her big day and their experience of working with the team.
Wedding Planning
“Absolute Events is one of those rare companies who take care of every aspect of the celebration from the most general to the most specific. Whether it was co-ordinating with our guests, tracking delivery dates, familiarising themselves and developing a rapport with our family members, they did it all. They’re also prompt and efficient. Despite multiple changes in our venues, they were patient and kind throughout the journey and super quick at revising plans. There was not a single area where they failed us. I believe finding such a great team is a boon for every bride and groom!”
Wedding Functions
Welcome Lunch
“We wanted to start the festivities with a bang! So our casino-themed welcome lunch was an opportunity for our guests to break the ice and get to know each other. It’s very easily done when you set up some great gaming stations! The decor used typical casino motifs – a red and white palette with poker chips, cards etc as part of the setup.”
Mehendi
“This function was divided into two experiences. We began with my mehendi application in a cosy setting outdoors. I wore contemporary clothes. For the second half of the celebration, it was everyone else’s turn to have their mehendi applied. I changed into the pink lehenga that my mum wore at her wedding. This outfit was so special to me and its design so timeless that I decided to not change anything about it. We had lots of gendas along with bright pink tassels and touches of white and the palette elevated the cheery mood of the function.”
Sangeet
“For our sangeet, the setup was evocative of an enchanted garden lush with foliage and flowers. The backdrop of our stage was enveloped in greens placed behind a floral arch flanked by white French doors. The venue was dotted with vases filled with fresh blooms and the setup looked dreamy. I wore a white gown while Sapan dressed in a black tuxedo.”
Wedding
“We went all out and embraced the Indian aesthetic at our wedding. The color scheme was red and white and could be seen across all elements from the drapes to seating to decor. Brass bells and lotus motifs trimmed with ranjigandha tassels were suspended from the branches of the trees.
To go with the traditional vibe, I wore a red lehenga by Umang Hutheesing what showcased beautiful gold embroidery, teamed with a dupatta in the same iridescent hue.”
Reception
“The setup for our reception was very unique. Large metal trellises formed various structures across the lawns, each covered in wonderful floral designs. The backdrop of the stage was a vertical garden, the lighting only enhancing its appeal further.
I wore a beige lehenga from JADE by Monica and Karishma while Sapan went with a black achkan.”
