This pilot couple showcased their shared love for aviation with a dazzling airport themed sangeet.

Amrapali and Parag’s love story began on the sunny shores of Florida, USA where both of them were pursuing their dream of becoming pilots. Fate brought them together as neighbors on the foreign shores, and soon, a friendship blossomed as they started hanging out together frequently. For them, the transition into love was natural and so was their decision to tie the knot. How They Met
Amrapali shares, “We both hail from Mumbai and are commercial pilots. We first met approximately 10 years ago in Florida where we were both pursuing our initial pilot’s training process. Being in the same batch, we became friends right away and co-incidentally also ended up becoming neighbors. And, as time flew by our friendship transitioned into love and after that, there was no looking back!”

The Proposal
Gushing about her surprise proposal, the happy bride shares, “Parag surprised me with a dreamy proposal on New Year’s eve 2019 at one of my favorite hotels in Delhi, i.e., ITC Grand Bharat. It was by far, one of the most magical and romantic moments of my life.”

Wedding Venue
“After scouting and visiting numerous beachside locations, we finally settled on The Resort Madh-Marve which let us plan an outdoor wedding that could let our creativity run freely. Being ardent Mumbaikars, we wanted a beach facing venue and The Resort Madh-Marve was absolutely perfect for our vision. Our aim was for the guests to feel comfortable and completely at ease as they enjoyed the nuptials.”, shares Amrapali.

Wedding Planning
Keeping their constantly busy schedules in mind, the duo decided to build a team of expert vendors on whom they’d be able to rely on completely. On the photography front, they chose Dreamcatchers Photography, who with their expressive shots impressed the duo. The bride shares, “Working with team Dreamcatchers Photography has been an absolute breeze from the very first meeting itself. They were extremely flexible, accommodating, and delivered exactly what they had promised. We were in awe with their skill throughout the nuptials and would happily recommend them to others. In fact, we also look forward to working with them in the future!”

Adding to the team were Shirke Decorators on the decor, Hair Garage by Natasha on makeup, and invitation designer Maahi Creations.

Weddings Functions
Mehndi
Following a Hawaiian theme, the mehndi was a playful affair hosted in the bright sunshine by the turquoise pool. Adorned with vibrant flowers, rustic and quirky elements like pineapples, flamingos, and pastel-hued balloons, the decor encouraged everyone to kick back and relax as they sipped on refreshing drinks. Heralding the duo’s entry were multi-hued color bombs that were held up by their friends and family.

Sangeet
Flaunting their love for all things aviation, the sangeet was a glitzy occasion that followed an airport theme. Reflecting the theme were witty placards that welcomed the guests by encouraging them to check-in and pick a seat according to their preference. Bathed in the delicate glow of fairy lights and LED candles, the guests made the most of their time under the velvety sky by dancing to their favorite Bollywood tracks. Setting the stage on fire with their graceful moves was the happy much-in-love duo who twirled around in joy.

Wedding
Choosing to stay classic and elegant, the duo chose a floral theme for the wedding which also fit in seamlessly with their surroundings that was peppered with lush palm trees swaying gently in the salty breeze. A delicate pastel peach-hued mandap cut a striking contrast with the surrounding foliage and sheltered the couple from the sun as they took their phere around the holy fire.

Glowing in a rani pink floral lehenga by Sabyasachi, Amrapali was all smiles as she shared quick, playful glances with Parag who chose to contrast her in a white sherwani paired with a pink bordered shawl.

Reception
Stepping up the glamor stakes for the reception, the duo chose a royal theme that was punctuated by vintage decor elements that reminded one of the days gone by. Using a red and gold color palette, the function was held during dusk and lit up by vintage chandeliers that cast their soft glow over the venue. Peppered with comfy seating areas and twinkling fairy lights everyone mingled freely as they blessed the newlyweds.

Advice For Couples
“Enjoy your wedding planning process completely. As you’re almost always extremely busy with planning and logistics, there’s a high chance that you’ll forget to take a pause to enjoy the journey. Also, don’t be too overwhelmed, instead, remember to give each other as much attention as required. Remember this is a ‘once in a lifetime’ event so just go with the flow and brace yourself for tiring days. And, yes, always follow your heart.”, advises Amrapali.
