Angarika and Rohan, Taj Lands End, Mumbai
Teenage sweethearts Angarika and Rohan tied the knot with a stunning Sikh wedding ceremony in Mumbai.
From teenage sweethearts to life partners, Rohan and Angarika’s relationship of 15 years was celebrated at their beautiful wedding that was planned and executed by WeddingSutra Favorite – Weddings by Shilpa & Sonika, and captured by another WeddingSutra Favorite – WeddingNama. Here’s how the festivities unfolded.
How They Met
Angarika and Rohan met for the first time in school. It was love at first sight for Rohan! After two years of being friendzoned by his lady love, Rohan finally saw light at the end of the tunnel when he proposed to her by singing a song to her at the school annual day and she said “Yes!” The rest, as we all know, is history, and their love story resulted in a beautiful wedding 15 years later!
Angarika and Rohan wanted their loved ones to enjoy every function. Weddings by Shilpa and Sonika helped them plan every function to perfection with standout decor and entertainment.
An intimate mehendi ceremony was held at Angarika’s place for her closest friends and relatives. This homely ceremony gave her the opportunity to spend some special moments with her loved ones before the bigger wedding functions got underway.
The mehendi party was hosted at The Club in Juhu for the extended family and friends circle of the couple. A night of singing, dancing and merriment, this function saw all guests letting their hair down and having a gala time. The highlight of the night was a song dedicated to the bride by Rohan which reminded her of his special musical proposal that took place fifteen years ago.
The couple’s haldi ceremony took place at their respective residences in Mumbai. Again an intimate affair attended by the close ones of the couple, the haldi was a joyful ceremony where turmeric paste was smeared on the couple by their loved ones. The quintessential kurta-tearing ritual was performed on the groom by his friends.
Angarika and Rohan’s Anand Karaj took place at the Sri Guru Singh Sabha Gurudwara in Andheri. The couple sought the blessings of the Almighty as well as their elders at this auspicious event.
The Anand Karaj was followed by an elaborate lunch that took place at the A La Mode Banquets in Juhu. The decor for the function had a traditional theme with yellow and orange marigold flowers and mogra-laden jharokhas that gave a traditional touch to the occasion.
Angarika and Rohan concluded their marriage festivities with a glitzy cocktail at the Taj Lands End, Mumbai. A glamorous evening, the function was resplendent with illuminated decor. The couple enthralled their guests with a romantic dance performance, which was followed by a night on the dance floor with DJ Kilogram on the console.
