This couple’s lakeside wedding in Mumbai with its soft pastel hues and floral decor will leave you enchanted!
Anushka Jain, founder of interior design company Studio ACE, and Bhavya Mehta, an engineer, first met at the age of three. From thereon, life took them on different paths, but fate had different plans as they found their way back to each other to become life partners. Planning their big day and ensuring that the couple unfolded the next chapter of their lives in style was WeddingSutra Favorite – Ties N Knots Weddings & Events.
Wedding Planning
Being a design pro, bride Anushka was crystal clear on her vision for the wedding. She goes on to share, “We were clear on wanting an outdoor venue for most functions. We looked for several venues across Maharashtra, and eventually selected Lonavala for our pre-wedding functions and Powai for the wedding.” The planning team at Ties N Knots Weddings & Events was, needless to say, essential in making everything come together seamlessly. The happy bride adds, “It was a great experience working with Ties N Knots Weddings & Events. They’d previously planned Bhavya’s best friend’s wedding. So we knew that their work would be airtight. We tried a lot of new things, and since we were on familiar turf with the planners, experimenting came easily. Consequently, the guests had a great time.”
Wedding Functions
Mehendi and Mayra
The Myra was hosted indoors with minimal floral decor. The entryway looked vibrant with its colorful blooms, mandala-inspired prints, crystal hangings and quirky decor elements.
Welcome Party
Anushka shares, “From the get-go, we wanted the welcome event to feel like a ‘party in the desert’ for our guests. The designers did an incredible job here as it went ahead exactly as we’d envisioned. Earthen vases, pampas grass and macrame hangings gave the venue a boho vibe. Hues of muted brown, gold and ochre ensured the desert theme was echoed in every aspect.”
Sangeet
“The sangeet theme was ‘Glam Night in the Ruins’ and the team executed it perfectly. The monochrome theme was in perfect sync with the starlit night. Silver decor elements added a dash of glam while flashing lights put everyone in the mood to party”, shares Anushka.
Wedding
Hosted by the Powai Lake, the wedding looked serene with its pastel hues and delicate blooms. The energetic groom made full use of this opportunity to host a rocking baraat. Anushka shares, “Bhavya had always felt weird about a moving baraat. He didn’t want to stop walking if he could dance! As a result, it was a ‘concert baraat’ for him. It turned out to be an incredible experience as the baraat went on for two and a half hours with a DJ. Safe to say, Bhavya and his friends had a blast.”
Reception
As evening fell, the couple hosted an indoor reception that followed the same color palette and design story as the wedding. With a vast stage backed by white roses and arches, the venue looked dreamy. The couple mingled with their guests freely and a live band kept the spirits high.

The couple says, “Be patient and don’t get stressed. The wedding’s the only party where all your loved ones will be in the same room, cherish it and enjoy it to the fullest!”
