Painstakingly planned and executed by WeddingSutra Favorite – Pink Palki, this wedding in Thailand celebrated the new beginning of Anushree, an ophthalmologist, and Karan, an oncology surgeon.
How They Met
Having met at medical college in 2008, the couple took over ten years to decide to tie the knot. With a romantic proposal in Imphal in 2018, Anushree and Karan, both established doctors in their fields, decided to seal their love at a destination wedding in Thailand.
Wedding Planning
A two-day celebration, Anushree and Karan decided to host their spectacular wedding at the Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort in Thailand the moment they saw the venue. Pink Palki was at the helm of all the five wedding events that were spread over the course of two days.
Wedding Functions
Mehendi
Bride Anushree color blocked her outfits to match the vibe of this vibrant function. She sported a neon-green blouse with a pink lehenga, looking radiant with matching floral jewelry. The decor was bright, with colorful umbrellas and drapes adorning the riverside garden where the function was held. The bride sat on a yellow seat embellished with bright yellow flowers that went beautifully with the other decor designs set up by Pink Palki.
Sagan And Sangeet
Anushree’s glamorous look for the sangeet included a sky-blue peplum lehenga with intricate embellishments. Her hair was styled into gorgeous curls and delicate earrings complemented her elegant and subtle look. Her dapper groom chose to sport a velvet bandhgala over a gold kurta. Pink Palki decked out the sangeet venue in rich purple with gold fairy lights and flowers dropping down like chandeliers.
Haldi
Anushree’s haldi was a close-knit affair that saw her close friends and family smearing her with the yellow turmeric paste. Followed by the chooda kaleera ceremony, the haldi function saw the bride glowing in dainty floral jewelry. The decor for the event was minimal with bright yellow drapes and marigold garlands adding an appealing freshness.
Wedding
A dreamy evening ceremony, the varmala took place outdoors near the riverfront. For the wedding, Anushree wore a maroon-embellished lehenga with dual dupattas – one in maroon and the other in light pink. Her jewelry consisted of an elegant kundan haar with a matching maangtikka, earrings and a nath. Choosing a light and dewy look for the face, Anushree sported dark maroon lips to matched her outfit. Karan wore an elegant white kurta with a pink shawl and matching turban.
Cocktail
The wedding was followed by a late-night after-party. For the cocktail party, Anushree wore a gorgeous silver-studded, sari-styled gown paired with a beautiful diamond necklace, her hair partition richly filled with sindoor. The groom looked handsome in a black bandhgala from Qbik. The theme for the night was ‘doctor-doctor’ and the glamourous decor consisted of chic curtains, lights and blooms all over the ballroom. The party saw the guests having a gala time sipping champagne and dancing to the lively music all night.
