How They Met
In a classic case of acquaintances turning friends to lovers, Apurva and Nikhil’s first conversation started online where they both took their time to get to know each other. After hundreds of hours filled with meaningful conversations, numerous text messages, and several after-office meetings, they both concluded that life had bestowed the gift of love upon them.

The Proposal
Planning a surprise proposal for Apurva, Nikhil took her on a romantic date at one of the secluded New York rooftops where they both could admire the glittering skyline together while sharing some delicious food. The breezy fall weather set the perfect ambience and they both enjoyed cocktails that kept them warm as they conversed. At twilight, Nikhil finally found the perfect moment that he’d been waiting for and quickly popped the question as he presented Apurva with the ring. Taken aback for a second, Apurva was completely speechless as she teared up emotionally with a soft smile quivering on her lips. It took a moment for her to realize though that she didn’t have a ring for him, but Nikhil had that covered too!

Wedding Venue
Envisioning an intimate wedding at a resort in close proximity to nature while providing multiple amenities, Mumbai was struck off the list by the couple. Jaipur was also considered but was quickly discarded for the proximity. Hence, a search was on for a location on the outskirts of Mumbai when they came across Silvassa which awed them with its lush greenery, connectivity, and sprawling spaces. Pluz Resort was the perfect match for the couple with its sprawling spaces, hospitality, flexibility, amenities and vast swimming pool.

Wedding Planning
To make their vision of a grand and care-free wedding come true, Apurva and Nikhil chose an efficient team of vendors that they could rely on. This included photographers Once Upon a Time – Wedding Tales who left the couple speechless with their dedication and patience. The couple shares, “None of this would have been possible without the Once Upon a Time – Wedding Tales team who were extremely invested in our wedding. Their professionalism, dedication, and patience knew no bounds. The pictures and videos are way beyond what we’d expected and no one else could’ve done it any better.”

On the decor front, Memory Jar Events also managed to execute flawless decor with their superior creativity. The couple shares, “We were actually pretty late in finalizing the themes and decor so we were a bit hesitant on how it would all turn out. But we think Memory Jar Events did a brilliant job keeping the time constraints in mind. No one else could’ve pulled it off and their success was evident when the guests were completely blown away by the decor.”

WeddingSutra Favorite – Kajol R Paswwan and her team were also on the scene and worked their magic on the couple to make sure that they looked stunning in each shot. The couple recollects, “The makeup ticked all the boxes and was everything we’d hoped for. Everyone looked like the best version of themselves and the best part is that the makeup lasted through the long hours of the day.”

Adding to the team was anchor Tina Chaudhari who entertained the guests with her wit and choreographers from Shehnaaz Dance Academy who rehearsed tirelessly with the couple and their family.

Weddings Functions

Mehndi
“We worked very closely with the decor team conveying our requirement for a vibrant Mehndi setup. Since we both have our roots in Rajasthan, we wanted the event to reflect the same. The open-air poolside was chosen for the function where people could sit back and relax while they got henna patterned on their hands. Traditional folk dancers, live bangle makers, and dholwalas added to the vibrant setup emitting carnival-like vibes. Colorful gazebos sheltered the guests from the bright sun.”, the couple shared.

For the Mehndi, Apurva chose a multi-hued lehenga and accessorized it with Polki earrings, necklace, and a maang tikka. On the other hand, Nikhil donned an ivory silk kurta.

Engagement/Sangeet
“For the sangeet/engagement ceremony we zeroed in on a classic pastel decor palette which had a touch of glitter to it to add some bling. Our entry was flanked by a tunnel of cold pyros and we had prepared an entry dance to a popular Bollywood track. There was also a photo booth, a large dancefloor with an LED screen backdrop and a DJ belting out the latest beats. A specially crafted multi-tier cake was cut for the occasion and the rest of the night was spent partying on the dancefloor.”, the couple recollects.

Apurva went for a sea green gown with delicate silver jewelry and slipped on quirky gold sneakers. Nikhil wore a black tuxedo paired with shiny dance shoes.

The Haldi was also a poolside event with yellow and red gazebos that sheltered the bride and groom. Staying true to tradition, the decor was replete with yellow and orange marigolds. Keeping the spirits up were the DJ and dholwalas who ensured the guests were on their feet showing off their best moves.

Wedding
Ensuring that the bride’s dream of a pink and pastel wedding mandap came true, the mandap decor included blooms and chandeliers that had a personal touch to it. The background of the mandap had a majestic backdrop of the pool that reflected the sign ‘ApNiWedding’ in its azure blue depths. After a shower of petals and love, the couple was happily hitched for life.

At their wedding ceremony, Apurva wore a traditional pink and orange bandhani gota patti lehenga designed by her mom. The exquisite Rajasthani jewelry that she wore was also designed by her mom. It included a timaniya neckpiece, jhumka earrings, gajra bracelet, bajuband, jadau hathphool, borla and nath. The bride’s hair was fashioned in a floral bun and her look was completed with a pair of stunning Jimmy Choo wedding shoes. Nikhil donned a powder pink sherwani with detailing along with a baby pink safa and ivory stole to complement the bride’s outfit.
