With gorgeous decor and unique themes for every function, Arpit and Akshaya’s wedding was a dream come true for them. Their breathtaking nuptials held at the Della Resorts in Lonavala were deftly captured by WeddingSutra Favourite – The Photo Lab. Bride Akshaya shares with us the highlights of the #AkshAr wedding.
How We Met
“Arpit and I studied in the same school, and knew each other for more than a decade. We have been together since then and our journey together has been a complete roller coaster ride. For the first five years of our relationship, we lived in the same city. However, it was only after graduating from the same college that Arpit decided to shift to Dubai. For the next five next years, we managed a long-distance relationship living in two different countries.”
Mehndi and Sagan
“The first day of the event included the mehndi and ‘sagan’ (engagement) ceremonies and the decor had a vibrant ‘mela’ (fair/carnival) vibe with blue, yellow and white shades used across all decor elements. The beautiful colors and interesting accents added a touch of glitz to the proceedings.”
The second day of the event saw a fun pool party being hosted which had a ‘Bee Theme’ with yellow, white and brown as the dominant colors. Wooden barrels were used as tables and other quirky decor elements added more charm to this lively day party. The poolside showers were the highlight of this day and the entire venue was illuminated by the beautiful color scheme.
Ring Ceremony and Cocktail
“The pool party was followed by the ring ceremony and cocktail in the evening that had a Moroccan theme. The colors used went perfectly with the cocktail mood and it was a crazy night with fun, family, friends, and love. The lighting set up in all four directions gave full coverage to the event and added more glamor to the entire set-up.”
Wedding and Reception
The third day saw the individual haldi ceremonies being hosted which were followed by the wedding. The couple created a mandap covered with fresh flowers and leaves, evoking visions of a romantic forest. While green and white were the dominant colors of the decor, bright reds and light pinks were also used to add a vibrant touch to the environs. Akshaya shares, “We wanted to create a romantic white and pastel theme, so we put a lot of our attention into a creating a unique set-up for our wedding.”
