Ashyin and Anubhav, Chattarpur

Ashyin and Anubhav’s love story will make you believe in destiny.

Love happens when you least expect it. This statement certainly holds true for recently-married couple, Ashyin and Anubhav. The two met on Tinder and fell head-over-heels in love within a few months. Their sweet bond shines through in their wedding pictures, beautifully captured by WeddingSutra Favourite – Weddingrams, who encapsulated the warmth of the ceremonies with their lens.

How We Met
How often is it that two strangers meet on a dating app and instantly click, leading to a full-blown love story? Ashyin says, “Destiny brought us together. Today, being married with absolutely no fear, no regrets, no second thoughts and no jitters feels like magic to me. It’s strange that we met on Tinder and things became so beautiful that, in just two months, we decided to spend the rest of our lives together. A few weeks after our roka, I planned a proposal for Anubhav. It was on our one-year dating anniversary. It took him by surprise, but he was elated with happiness to see me go down on one knee. He instantly said ‘Yes’.”

Wedding Venue
The couple picked Opulent Hotel by FNP Gardens, New Delhi, as their wedding venue. It offers luxurious rooms, which made it easy to accommodate their guests right at the location where all the wedding functions were held.

Wedding Planning
“In the midst of all the chaos of wedding planning, we decided to have our pre-wedding shoot done on the hills, where Anubhav was born. At the top of the cliff, we got beautiful shots of Anubhav putting a ring on my finger. In that moment, I could feel my heart thumping with joy. Everything around us was so magical and filmy – it looked straight out of a Yash Raj movie. Once that was done, we got deep into planning our wedding functions. I had planned the theme for the decor right at the beginning, and I discussed it with the Dream Catchers team. Pastel colors along with white formed the color palette while fairy lights and candles added a dreamy feeling – this is what I wanted for my big day. I wanted the entire look to be classy and minimalistic.”

The couple began the planning process around six months in advance. Once the themes for the decor was decided, they had enough time to brainstorm, course correct and do all the sample checks.

Wedding Functions

Haldi
“For our haldi decor, we played with a yellow and blue color palette, which made the place look fresh and lively,” says the happy bride. Ashyin and Anubhav both wore white outfits that stood out against the bright decor. She picked an elegant white saree with silver jewellery that got covered in holi soon after the haldi ceremony, when the guests started playing with color while dancing in celebration to the beats of the dhol.

Mehndi
Ashyin walked in wearing a gorgeous fuchsia lehenga and shrug by Neha & Kriti. She paired her outfit with customized kolhapuris that had pink bows and ‘Miss To Mrs’ embroidered on them. The dashing groom entered wearing a Sameer Gandhi white kurta with a pastel blue jacket. The decor relied heavily on pastel colors and floral elements, with a backdrop crafted with white and peach flowers.

Sangeet
Their sangeet began on an emotional note with heartfelt speeches by members from both families. It soon took a full 180-degree turn as the families set the stage ablaze with their stunning performances. For the decor, Ashyin chose all things wine and shine, with beautiful chandeliers and candles on every table to light up the venue. The bride looked royal in a shimmering navy blue gown by Rianta, which was studded with sequins. The groom chose to wear a Sameer Gandhi black suit with a white pocket square.

Wedding
The day began early for the bride with her chooda ceremony. While the wedding decor focussed on pastels, her outfit was in complete contrast. She picked a brick-red lehenga by Asiana Couture. The groom kept it subtle in a cream sherwani by Sameer Gandhi. All the baraatis followed the pastel theme and wore light-colored outfits. The bride’s makeup artist, Sakshi Malik, made sure she looked utterly gorgeous, giving her that signature bridal glow and alluring smokey eye makeup.

Reception
The bride says, “The reception was my favorite! There were fairy lights all over with beautiful white drapes.” Ashyin made a show-stopping entry in a gorgeous gold saree by Nalli, while the groom looked charming in a black sherwani with a red pocket square by Sameer Gandhi. The married couple kicked off the celebrations with a romantic first dance.

Advice For Couples
“Have a clear idea of how you want the decor to look so that explaining it to the team is a smooth and easy process. It is essential to have a budget for everything. When you have a budget for all the expenses, it gives you a clear picture of where to cut down and where you can go overboard.

“It is also very important to pick the right photographer for your wedding. Divyam from Weddingrams captured those amazing moments that will be etched in our hearts forever. I am glad and very grateful to have picked him.”
