Ayushi and Ayush, Kochi, Kerala

After an underwater proposal, this couple made waves with their fun wedding that featured flash mobs & dramatic entries.

High school sweethearts Ayush Poddar and Ayushi Mehta commemorated more than a decade of love with a glorious destination wedding in ‘God’s Own Country’ – Kerala. The fabulous festivities were captured in timeless frames by WeddingSutra Favorite – Movie’ing Moments. Here are a few glimpses of the nuptials shared by bride Ayushi.

Ayushi and Ayush

How They Met
“Ayush and I have been together since high school, but it was only a year before our wedding that we broke the news of our relationship to our parents, who were thrilled beyond measure.”

The Proposal
“On our tenth year anniversary, Ayush decided to pop the question to me by planning an incredible surprise. We flew to the Andamans for three days, and on the first night, he arranged a beautiful candlelit dinner with live music and champagne. Then as we watched a video he created about our favorite trips and places, he gifted me a pendant he had given me years ago that I thought I had lost but had actually been in his possession, for exactly this occasion. I was over the moon, but little did I know there was more to it. The next morning, on our first ever scuba dive together, he held my hand underwater and led me to a coral reef. Plucking a shell from the reef, he opened it to display the most beautiful ring inside. The moment was undoubtedly the most magical one of my life.”

Wedding Venue
“Since we both hail from large families and were expected to hold a big wedding, we decided to do something different and opted for a destination wedding with just our close friends and family. We found our perfect venue in Grand Hyatt Kochi on Bolgatty Island. Surrounded by water on three sides, and with luxurious rooms, great service, and a variety of indoor and outdoor venues, it was our dream location.”

Wedding Planning
The team of Movie’ing Moments was hired to capture the special moments of the festivities after Ayush and Ayushi had a wonderful experience with them during their pre-wedding shoot. Talking about their experience with Movie’ing Moments, the couple shared, “We came across Movie’ing Moments work on Instagram, and fell in love with their style. However, it was when they did our pre-wedding shoot that we were confident of our decision. Vaibhav and his team made sure not to miss out on a single special moment of our festivities. The highlight was a four-minute video of the events that had taken place so far that they edited and showcased on the same day as the wedding!”

Weddings by Anish Washa planned and conceptualized the events, while Sumit Khetan choreographed the grand performances, and Tamasha band entertained the guests.
