How They Met
Bhagya and Vignesh first met in Mumbai where they were both pursuing their undergraduate studies. They gradually became close friends, and to their luck, even ended up going to the same city – New York, to pursue their master’s degrees where their friendship progressively turned into romance. After graduation, Vignesh moved to Seattle while Bhagya stayed in New York and after years of long-distance courting, the couple finally reunited when she made her move to Seattle.
As ardent travelers, Bhagya and Vignesh enjoy traveling around the USA, and it was one such trip in Hawaii where Vignesh popped the question to Bhagya against the glorious Maui sunset.
For their wedding venue, the couple chose Bhagya’s hometown Visakhapatanam. Impressed by the beauty of Radisson Blu Resort Visakhapatnam, the couple had no second thoughts about their wedding venue! They share, “We chose Radisson Blu Resort Visakhapatnam for its beautiful location, hospitality and high standards when it came to all the COVID-19 safety protocols. For us, everyone’s well-being was of the highest priority and at this resort, we could rest assured that everything would be taken care of. Their team was extremely professional and hosted all the events in a smooth manner. Plus, the food was excellent!”
For a wedding as beautiful as this one, it’s essential to have a skilled photographer on the team to capture those once-in-a-lifetime moments. Fortunately, Bhagya and Vignesh chose KnotsbyAMP who with their skills and sharp sense of timing captured dynamic shots for the couple to treasure forever. They share, “The KnotsbyAMP team is so talented, and they were incredibly easy to work with. They understood our requirements effortlessly and hit the ground running from day one!”
The first function to kickstart the wedding celebrations is the pellikuthuru ceremony and it was held in the bride’s home. As the bride was bestowed with gifts, all the ladies gathered around her and offered their prayers.
Mehndi, Mangal Snan and Haldi
Clubbing the Mangal Snan, which literally means ‘auspicious bath’, Mehndi and Haldi together, the couple grooved to the beats as they reveled with their families. Swathed in yellow and pink hues, the ceremonies looked gorgeous under the sunlight.
The Sangeet was super glam and had everyone put their best foot forward on the stage. Dancing to their favorite tracks, this indoor celebration doubled up on the fun with games and the couple’s dance performance that had everyone cheering on!
