This pilot and sailor couple celebrated their love in an elegant white wedding hosted at a 15th-century church in their hometown, Vasai.

From childhood acquaintances to best friends, and then finally, successful professionals in their own right, Christline Faroz, a pilot, and Sneden Gonsalves, a sailor, overcame the many miles between them, not to mention logistically challenging professions, and finally tied the knot in a beautiful white wedding at their hometown of Vasai. Photographed by WeddingSutra Favorite – Knotty Affair by Namit & Vipul, who captured every moment in expressive frames, this intimate wedding wowed everyone with its stunning simplicity.

How They Met
Christline shares, “We’ve known each other since eighth grade in school. However, never in our wildest dreams did we think that we’d end up being life partners. Four years ago, we reconnected through a mutual friend who tried playing cupid. This time around, we bonded over our childhood memories, became best friends, and then finally fell in love.
Ours is a long-distance relationship as Sneden is a sailor and I’m a pilot, but we never let these challenges get to us. On the contrary, it only brought us closer!!”

Wedding Planning
The couple had the vision of hosting an elegant Catholic wedding in their hometown of Vasai which is located on the outskirts of Mumbai. They roped in photographers Knotty Affair by Namit & Vipul to encapsulate their big day through their lens. Raving about the photography team, the couple shares, “We had to postpone our wedding due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and team Knotty Affairs was extremely accommodating. Later, they went out of their way to capture each moment of our big day. Furthermore, they even researched and sent us photo inspiration for our wedding. Our families are also very happy with the pictures and videos. We are lucky that we found them and would strongly recommend them to everyone getting married in the future.”

Spacious and steeped in rich history, the duo chose St. Michael’s Church which is one of the oldest churches in Vasai. Built as a chapel in the year 1606 when the Portuguese ruled Vasai, the church is more than 400 years old. Also, adding to its beauty is an old wooden altar that is adorned with stunning carvings. Equipped with a vast courtyard, Christline’s bridal entry was a cheerful affair under the golden sunlight ,while the sky blue ceiling of the church gave one the impression that the couple was taking their vows under a sunlit sky.

Wedding
Christline shares, “We wanted our wedding to be classic and elegant. Keeping that in mind, we chose a soft color palette with white and soft-pink hues which was accentuated by pops of glamorous gold.” Held at St.Michael’s church, the Catholic wedding was lit up by the sun streaming through the church windows adding a dash of vintage to the proceedings.
