Cinthu and Robin, Toronto and New York

A divine Hindu wedding held against the backdrop of a beautiful temple and a church wedding made Cinthu and Robin's celebration of love a memorable affair.

They met as Engineering students, and their chemistry led them to tying the knot five years after being together. Here, bride Cinthu shares some highlights from their nuptials.

How We Met
“We’ve been dating for five years, and have known each other for around nine years. We met at Manhattan College and were in some of the same classes since we are both engineers. However, we lost the connection once we chose our disciplines. Robin went into Electrical Engineering, and I took Chemical Engineering. I’m the type of person that will jump first and think later and Robin, fortunately, is the opposite. He’s always been the calm and collected one out of the two of us!”

Wedding Venues
“We decided to have our Hindu ceremony at the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Toronto, and the Christian Ceremony at the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart. We specifically wanted to get married at places of worship. We always felt that having a wedding at a venue took away the religious aspect and seriousness of a wedding.”

Wedding Functions

Hindu Wedding
“We wanted our colors and wedding to be timeless. Pictures and video are forever, so we wanted to be able to look back and still be amazed. Our color theme for this function included gold, red and white hues.” The wedding took place at the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir with minimalistic additional decoration in honor of the essential sanctity and beauty of this place.

Church Wedding
The church wedding took place at the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart, and it all looked like a classic fairytale. A beautiful location, color-coordinated bridesmaids and groomsmen, a smiling couple and the serene vibe of the church made this function a memorable one. The couple wanted a traditional look for their church wedding, so they chose blush, gold and white as their color theme.

Reception
The Reception evening saw everyone toasting to the newlyweds, as they closed out the fun festivities! It was a party to remember where and the couple looked gorgeous together. Draped in all things shiny and white, with a roomful of guests dressed in the classiest outfits, the reception was a beautiful close to a fantastic celebration. At the end of the day, everything blended into one memory filled with love, happiness and ecstasy for all who attended.
