Devanshee and Vinit, Gujarat
A Las Vegas proposal led to this duo’s wedding which was hosted across top venues in Vadodara and Ahmedabad.
From studying together to managing a long-distance relationship, and then taking the plunge, Vinit and Devanshee’s love story unfolded in a charming one over the years. Their lavish wedding in Gujarat was a heady, heavenly celebration, whose moments were captured by WeddingSutra Favorite – The Return Ticket Studios.
How They Met
Devanshee shares, “Vinit and I met for the first time in graduate school. We hadn’t really noticed each other at first despite being in the same class. Slowly, we started hanging out in the same circle, and our friendly banter turned serious as we started having long conversations over texts or calls. One of our most memorable moments was a late-night walk we went on after hanging out at a friend’s place. That was a turning point for our relationship as we walked on for miles into the wee hours of the night and lost track of time. Things just felt right! We moved to two different cities for internships, and that’s when we realized how close we’d grown. We spent the last few days doing almost everything together before flying out. Within a week of separation, we concluded that we were ‘meant to be’ and started a long-distance relationship. Finally, we were united for a few months during the last semester, but Vinit had to move away again. After two years, we were reunited again when I moved to Seattle.”
The Proposal
“After five years of me moving to Seattle, Vinit planned a trip to Las Vegas for my birthday. It was supposed to be like any other trip, at least in my mind. We spent our day looking at the sights and had lunch at Hell’s Kitchen by Gordon Ramsay. Then, for dinner, he took me to the Eiffel Tower restaurant, and as we sat there watching the Bellagio Fountains, he reached into his pocket and pulled out a ring box and went down on one knee to propose. I was absolutely surprised as this was such an unexpected birthday gift. With my eyes tearing up I said ‘Yes!’ instantly.”
Wedding Venues
Spread across Ahmedabad and Vadodara, the couple chose magnificent venues that could host their grand ceremonies and large guest list. The sprawling Waves Club in Vadodara proved to be the perfect venue for the sangeet. For the wedding ceremony, the couple chose the Baleshwar Party Plot, a popular and trusted venue, that has hosted many grand weddings efficiently. The reception venue was Shakti Greens, a posh property with colossal classy ballrooms.
Wedding Planning
To make sure everything went ahead seamlessly, the couple relied on efficient vendors. On the photography front, Vinit and Devanshee hired The Return Ticket Studios who had impressed the couple with shots that captured their individual personalities. The happy bride shares, “The Return Ticket Studios team were extremely patient and listened to our inputs. They managed two camera-shy people and the results were beautiful!” Adding to the team were makeup artists from Sakhi Beauty Clinic, Orange The Salon, and Mona’s Beauty Clinic & Hair Studio who highlighted Devanshee’s best features and made her look flawless for every function.
Weddings Functions
Sangeet
Getting glamour right, the sangeet was a dazzling affair held under the open night sky. The decor consisted of a royal purple and white color palette which was reflected in the floral arrangements, lanterns, and table decor. However, the enormous stage had everyone’s attention with its colorful digital backdrop that gave every performance a desi touch. For the sangeet, Devanshee stood out amongst the dark decor and flashing lights in her delicate white and pastel pink lehenga. Vinit color co-ordinated his ensemble with her by opting for a lilac and pastel pink bandhgala suit.
Wedding
The wedding decor exuded dreamy vibes with a classic a red, white, and gold color palette. Made up completely of vibrant blooms, the couple’s wedding mandap was the highlight of the ceremony with its twisting floral pillars and beautiful ceiling. Vinit made a classic entry seated in a red vintage car with his baarat in tow.
Following the traditional route and complementing the decor, Devanshee chose a ruby red and gold lehenga which she paired with minimalistic jewellery. Vinit, in contrast, wore a silver and white embroidered sherwani.
