How They Met
Dhanvee says, “Jay and I were introduced to each other via a common acquaintance and we immediately fell in love. The very first time we met, we spent over six hours together, dining and ‘wine-ing’ about our lives. We met again the next day. We did some shopping, went to the movies, had dinner and went clubbing. Time just flew by and even though we had spent 12-hours straight together, we didn’t want to say goodbye! On the third consecutive day that we met, a five-hour-long drive only accelerated the pace at which our feelings for each other were growing – there was no going back! That’s when we knew just how beautiful life was going to be together!”

Wedding Venues
“We chose venues that accentuated the natural decor. We wanted our functions to be elegant, warm and full of love. The decor had to be a reflection of our personalities and our criteria was simple: minimalistic, natural, elegant and charming. We picked a range of pastels and stuck to different color categories for each function. For our cocktail party, we chose Escobar in Bandra. The sangeet was at Aqaba in Lower Parel. For the wedding, ITC Grand Maratha was our first and final choice.”

Wedding Highlight
The bride says, “Our wedding week was purely a celebration of our union and love for each other! Several people, even those we did not know, came up to us to tell us that we made a beautiful couple! Our celebrations were just a reflection of this sentiment. That’s why we had a surprise performance at our cocktail, which displayed the sizzling chemistry that Jay and I share. Our sangeet showcased our grace and dance skills through long solo performances. Our wedding photos show our happiness and laughter during the rituals; revealing our excitement of beginning our lifetime journey together!”

Baraat
Dressed in a traditional beige sherwani, the dulha arrived in style for the wedding. The bride says, “The highlight was his baraat! The Ferrari, the coordinated turbans of the baraatis and the heart-thumping music by the band ensured a memorable entry into the gates of our wedding venue.”

Wedding
The color scheme for the auspicious occasion had shades ranging from baby pink to red. The bride wore a breathtaking Shyamal and Bhumika lehenga in red with floral embroidery and glittering details. A pale-peach dupatta added a splash of contrast. A layered necklace and an intricately-designed mathapatti (headgear) completed her look. Dhanvee arrived at the mandap flanked by 20 pretty bridesmaids dressed in pink, who announced her arrival with temple bells, manjiras (musical instruments) and petals. Her six brothers, all in matching turbans, held her phoolon ki chaadar – the sight of which left guests teary-eyed.
