How We Met
“Ujjawal is a businessman in Delhi. I was studying in Dubai and he was there for New Year’s Eve. My cousin and he were in university together and he introduced us. A group of us all went out to watch Coldplay in concert in Abu Dhabi and that’s where we started talking.
We exchanged numbers but we met again only after 6 months, and this time in London. He’d come there for a vacation because I was doing part of my course there. We figured out then that there was something between us but I was too scared to take the plunge.
But he was my rock then and he still is my rock and there was never the need for any proposal because we just knew and when you know, you know.”

Mehndi
“Our wedding started with a colorful and funky mehndi on the rooftop. We had some fun elements spread across the venue; a truck shaped Theka bar and mini tents everywhere. We also had balloon shooting stalls, a tarot card reader, jooti wallas and channa jor. There were dance performances and dholwalas too which made it a fabulous evening.”
Cocktail
“The décor had a modern vibe rendered in glass and floral accents. The entire roof was covered with fresh flowers, while the bar was made of mirror mosaic, this execution by Indian Wedding Planners was gorgeous. The lighting enhanced the mood of the evening further. All the performances were entertaining, and the guests couldn’t stop dancing until late that night!”
Wedding
“Red and gold dominated the wedding. We had diyas across the gardens and huge canopies overhead. The wedding mandap was on a stage surrounded by water fountains.” The couple wanted the mandap decor in the traditional color palette so there were lots of red elements including flowers.
Advice for Couples
“No matter how much you get worked up while planning a wedding, everything is always perfect at the end. Go with the flow and just keep in mind that this is the person you love with whom you’re spending the rest of your life – the best reason to always be happy.”
