When it comes to the pomp and splendor of Punjabi weddings, go big or go home is the law of the land. Guranajan and Raj’s wedding revelries were a kaleidoscopic blend of decadent decor, and fun festivities enveloped in an explosion of colors, the details of which, were eternalized by WeddingSutra Favorite – Gautam Khullar Photography.
The festivities were hosted across various eclectic venues in New Delhi. The cocktail function was held at Amaanta Farms, followed by the Mehndi at Four Points by Sheraton, while the Anand Karaj Ceremony was held at the Balsons Farm.
The vivid details of the grand wedding festivities, as well as the nuances of the couple’s love, were captured in perfect frames by the very talented team of Gautam Khullar Photography. The wedding saw grand yet distinct decor for each function which was planned and conceptualized by different decor teams. The bride’s sensational couture was complemented perfectly by ‘Makeup looks’ by Simran Takkar.
The celebrations kicked off with a groovy dhol night followed by a stylish cocktail and engagement function. The vintage maximalism of the decor sought inspiration from Sabyasachi’s decadent color palette of red and gold and also included luxurious drapes and antique chandeliers, along with an abundance of candles and alluring red flowers on every surface. Navraj Han’s high-octane performance wowed everybody present there. The enraptured guests looked on as the stunning couple decked in dazzling evening attire exchanged rings, followed by a delectable feast that featured more than 250 gourmet dishes.
Next came the vibrant sundowner mehndi function with a whirlwind of colors. Popping hues of lime and pink set a fun ambience, along with a profusion of flowers and inviting food stalls that were reminiscent of Mumbai’s street food, in honor of the bride’s history with the city.
Guests were captivated by the elaborate 20 min skit that was choreographed to tell the couple’s love story. The bride looked radiant in a gorgeous sea-green lehenga and jewels that perfectly complemented the groom’s dark green Bandi jacket outfit.
Romantic hues of blush, white and tangerine set a soft, cheerful tone for the auspicious Anand Karaj ceremony. The groom exuded serene royalty in an intricate ivory and peach attire, while the bride stunned in an exquisitely crafted peach and mint hued lehenga, statement ornaments and a dewy, demure visage as they took their vows. The guests enjoyed Imli popsicles and tom yum mojitos while they were serenaded by a Saxophone player.
