When Harsimran and Pavneet met each other, they knew that they had found their perfect match and to celebrate, only the best venue in town would do. The duo hosted their celebrations at the luxurious Taj Mahal Hotel, New Delhi. To capture the love and joy of their big day, they had WeddingSutra Favourite Happyframes take charge of the camera. Excited about starting this new chapter of her life, the bride shares with us her journey.

How We Met
We were introduced to each other by our families and got along instantly. A few months after of knowing each other, we decided to get married.

Wedding Venue
We chose The Taj Mahal Hotel on Mansingh Road for our three-day long wedding celebrations. The hotel’s elegant old-world luxury and modern comforts and its distinguished address in the heart of New Delhi made it the ideal choice. Not only were we pleased by each of their elegant spaces but also impressed by their warm hospitality.

Wedding Planning
A talented couple, Aditya and Reiti, run Riveting Events which did all our décor and were wonderful with creating different themes for all our functions.

Photography is the most important part of any wedding celebration and we are so glad we chose Happyframes to capture our big day. I would give full credit to Deepanshi and her team for making our wedding so memorable. They go out of the way to make you feel comfortable and get the best out of you. I would surely recommend them to friends and family.

I chose Prerna Khullar to do my wedding makeup, and I must say that she’s the best for a Sikh bride. She gave me the look I’d always wanted for my D-Day.

Meera Sakhrani was the makeup artist for my engagement. She gave me a very glam look that complemented my outfit completely.

Wedding Functions

Bridal Mehndi
Prior to the larger wedding events, we had a mehndi function for close family and friends. The venue was decorated in orange, white and shades of pink. Printed drapes alternated with those in solid colors to create a pretty roof from which we suspended pots overflowing with vines. We had a backdrop created using fabric and wooden rings that made for a unique decor element.

Mehndi
For our mehndi we went with traditional aesthetics – think bright colors, ethnic elements like kalire and parandis, and marigolds. Lots of chakri-like structures propped on poles dotted the venue, adding more color to the setup. We also had bridal seating created using orange gendas, and drapes in fuchsia, orange yellow and green.

I chose a Shantanu & Nikhil outfit; a beautiful light grey lehenga which complemented the theme perfectly.

Engagement
After a mehndi bursting with color, it was time for an engagement that was all about sophisticated tones. We played a lot with lighting and had a stage created that featured a backdrop smothered with white flowers in front of which there was a couch in the same color flanked by tables that bore vases with monotone floral arrangements. Our decorators used lots of flowers, candles, mirrors and frames to bring opulence to the event.

I wore Manish Malhotra for this function; a champagne gown and lots of diamonds to go with it.

Wedding
For our wedding, we wanted decor that was whimsical yet sophisticated. The color palette was made up of pink, white and peach. Drapes in these colors were used to create canopies, white birdcages and lanterns that held fresh blooms were suspended from the branches of trees, we had a pink and white backdrop with quirky elements, such as a bicycle, ladders, photo frames and so on. We also invited two harpists to play at the event and their music elevated the celebratory mood of the occasion further.

I picked Manish Malhotra again. My wedding outfit was a fabulous light pink anarkali and wearing it made me feel like royalty. He definitely knows how to create magic with his outfits.
