With a theme inspired by the Netflix show 'Sacred Games' - Hinal & Dhawal's wedding was a dramatic gala.
Dhawal first met Hinal in an arranged marriage setting, and discovered that they were each other’s soulmates. He shares some highlights of their journey from that initial meeting to incredible celebrations planned to perfection by WeddingSutra Favorite – Momentum Experiences & Events LLP.
How They Met
“We met through an arranged marriage setting and connected instantly by our logical understanding about things.”
At first, Dhawal assumed Hinal was driven and individualistic, while she thought that Dhawal’s was someone who could hold only an intellectual conversation with her. But after they met, they realized they were each other’s soulmates.
Dhawal says, “One line in her biodata that said, ‘Looking for someone who is driven, individualistic, intellectually engaging and social’ caught my attention. After our first meeting, I was convinced that the bold beauty with brains sitting across me was my soulmate.” Hinal too admitted that their first meeting established the fact that she had found someone who fit her wish list.

Wedding Functions
Hinal and Dhawal decided that they needed to focus on each other when it came to planning the wedding. As ‘Sacred Games’ (a Hindi web series on Netflix) fans, they chose a logo that resembled the logo of the web series along with that mystic touch of Indian traditions. Right from conceptualizing the logo to mapping their events, all the details were taken care of by Dhawal. The theme chosen for the marriage was ‘Sacred Marriages.’ Every event was named after pure Sanskrit words and the decor was planned according to the themes. The only event that stood out from the rest was the white wedding ceremony which was Hinal’s desire. This was followed by traditional pheras.
White Wedding
“Hinal wanted a dreamy white wedding with a complete English setup. She never asks for anything but this was one thing she had always wanted. She didn’t ask me outright, but I knew it in my heart that I was going to fulfill her wish. I had been personally involved in the smallest of the details for this event. From the decor theme to the placement of the chairs, and how the bridesmaids and groomsmen would enter, everything was well thought through. This event was a traditional white wedding with speeches and vows, and we served only white wine and champagne. The decor palette consisted primarily of lavender hues as I knew Hinal would love that.”
Sura Praisa (Cocktail)
“It was an indulgent affair comprising of pure madness with choicest liquor and liqueur. A lot of fun memories were created at this bash. The theme was ‘Dress to Impress,’ and guests were welcomed to the venue by paparazzis thus giving them a full red carpet celebrity feel.”
Aticarana (Pool Party)
“The pool party had a ‘Naughty’ theme The decor had a blue and white color palette. We also had a rain dance setup and other fun activities to keep our guests entertained. From electrifying music to beer pong, casino games or the alcohol shots – this party had it all!”
Santani (Mystic Evening)
“After a crazy alcohol-filled 40 hours, a night of relaxation and good music was called for. The artist for the night performed some Bollywood numbers with his soulful voice and gave us a night to remember. The decor for this event included some glittery elements with a cozy vibe.”
Lasya (Sangeet)
“The sangeet included some amazing performances by friends and family. The event was hosted at Chowpatty, and the vibe was dreamlike.” Dhawal opted for a royal abstract sherwani encrusted with fine mirror work along with some traditional zari work, while Hinal wore an abstract patterned lehenga featuring shimmery accents.
Vaidhika (Pheras)
The pheras were a stunning affair. The groom and the baraatis were seen in a fun mood as they made their way to the mandap. The groom donned a Shwet Kamal sherwani in ivory silk which he paired with a moss green churidar, kesari chanderi turban, and lotus motif juttis.
Reception
For the reception, the venue was adorned with assorted floral arrangements. Hinal chose a beautiful dusty pink lehenga embellished with silver floral designs and a frilled hem. Complementing her look was Dhawal’s suave black nawabi sherwani paired with a Lucknowi dupatta.
