Hiral and Amit, Nashik
Sporting an intricately embroidered red lehenga with a Kundan necklace, this makeup artist bride chose to do her own makeup for her big day.
A fusion wedding surrounded by lush greens and heavy rains, Hiral and Amit’s celebration of love was punctuated by heartwarmingly joyful moments. With a limited attendance of about 45 people owing to the pandemic, their close-knit nuptials was a beautiful affair photographed to perfection by WeddingSutra Favorite – Movie-ing Moments, who with their superior expertise made every shot count and gave the duo a treasure trove of memories.
How they met
Having known each other since childhood and growing up together, love was extremely natural for the duo. Hiral shares, “We’ve been dating each other for the past 12 years and one day, Amit had had enough and popped the question!”
Keeping in mind the current COVID-19 situation across the country and the health of their elders, the duo decided to execute a small ceremony especially for them. Hiral shares, “We made sure to execute a small ceremony for all the elders of the family, like our grandparents, who couldn’t be there for the actual wedding due to their vulnerable health during the pandemic. Instead, we chose to celebrate and be blessed by them in a quiet ceremony. Furthermore, at the actual wedding, we made sure that each guest underwent temperature checks for utmost safety.”
Acknowledging the unique yet difficult task of planning a lockdown wedding, the duo relied on seasoned vendors who could easily guide them through the process. On the photography front, they chose Movie’ing Moments who with their expert skills made sure that every beautiful moment at the wedding was captured in stunning detail. From touching candids to formal portraits, each click by Movie’ing Moments expressed a plethora of emotions. Adding to the team was hairstylist Alpa Gala, along with choreographers Hardik and Aditya.
Describing her nerve-wracking experience as a makeup artist for her own wedding, Hiral recollects, “I have done quite a bit of bridal makeup throughout my career but never thought that I’ll be a bundle of nerves when it came to myself. Everything had to be flawless from the eyeshadow to the lips, and I’m happy to say that I came out with flying colors!”
“For the haldi we chose the traditional yellow theme where the entire venue was swathed in different shades of the hue. This ceremony was quite important for Amit, who is a Maharashtrian, and, to honor his culture I chose to don a Paithani saree for the rituals.”, shares Hiral.
“The sangeet witnessed a relaxed atmosphere where all of us were entertained by an emcee. Additionally, we also shook a leg on the dance floor to some peppy beats while other guests indulged in games. However, the highlight of the evening was a skit cum dance performance by our friends which showcased our love story.”, recollects the bride.
“For the big day, we chose the classic pastel theme. Following Gujurati traditions, the wedding was a dreamy affair where my squad co-ordinated with each other to sport pastel hues. Amidst them, my bright red lehenga stood out beautifully. Also, all our friends organically wore matching outfits with the girls in blue and the guys in pink.”, shares Hiral.
“We eschewed a formal reception since it was a small group of people who knew each other well. Instead, we decided to have a relaxed cocktail party where we could all unwind after the festivities and chat easily with one another.”, says the bride.
Advice for Couples
Hiral advises, “Keeping the lockdown in mind, there will be many things that will not work according to plans. Don’t make a fuss about getting everything right, instead, relax and enjoy the precious moments with your loved ones.”
