Marking her journey from ‘friends forever’ to ‘happily ever after’, Kaara Decor’s Founder Isha Kapur tied the knot with long-time beau Dhruv Chandra in a memorable celebration in Delhi. The intimate wedding was followed by grand revelries a month later, all of which were planned to perfection by WeddingSutra Favorite – Plush Weddings. How they met
Friends for more than 15 years, Isha and Dhruv bonded in their childhood during their school years. After several years of being fast friends, they embraced their feelings for each other and dated for 7 years, growing and evolving hand-in-hand. Dhruv popped the question with an intimate proposal at a birthday retreat at Ranthambore in March 2021, and the duo started planning their happily ever after.

Wedding Planning
After postponing the celebrations 3 times over 12 months, the couple tied the knot with intimate sunset nuptials with just family at Hyatt Regency Delhi, where they returned a month later for the 3-day grand festivities with all their loved ones. They entrusted the team of Plush Weddings to take on every detail of their wedding planning. Talking about their experience, they share, “From the get-go, Ruchika and Utkarsh felt like family. We had met a few planners before, but things naturally clicked with them, and we booked them at the first meeting itself. They handled all vendor co-ordinations and ensured everything was spectacular. It was an absolute pleasure working with the team.”

Wedding Functions
Wedding
Isha and Dhruv tied the knot with romantic sunset pheras in February 2022 on the sprawling lawns of Hyatt Regency Delhi. The intimate soiree was adorned with the delicate decor of flowers in fresh spring hues that softly accentuated the natural greenery. The couple’s traditional ensembles in red and cream stood out against the pastel mandap backdrop as they took their vows surrounded by the love of their family and close friends.
The nuptials were followed by a lively wedding dinner with drinks, dancing, cake cutting and non-stop enjoyment.

Welcome Dinner
The March wedding madness began with a close-knit Welcome Dinner right before the bride’s Mehndi ceremony. The warm, cozy decor at the occasion saw rousing dance practice, cocktails and dinner as everyone let loose, mingled and geared up for the next 2 days. Isha and Dhruv sported mirror-work outfits in black and red respectively.

Mehndi
The next day began with a lively Mehndi soiree in a pretty pastel color palette. Exuding a plush Parisian vibe with a desi twist, the decor saw tons of flowers, printed vases, cane furniture, floral canopies and all things elegant. Summer cocktails, henna artists and melodious tunes set a fun-filled mood for the occasion, the highlight of which was a heartwarming dance performance by the bride’s mother and her friends.

Sangeet
The glitz and glamour of the gold and black decor set a decadent tone for the Sangeet, which the couple matched with their scintillating outfits. The evening saw rousing music by DJ Kaushal, riveting dance performances by the couple and their loved ones as well as singer Sukhbir.

Haldi
A sea of yellow took over the final morning at the Haldi function. The modern marigold decor was beautifully complemented with traditional elements like ornate urli and stools for the rituals. Dressed in yellow, everyone surrounded the white-clad couple as they anointed them with Haldi and showered them with flowers, love and all the blessings.

Reception
The festivities came to a glorious close with a grand reception hosted by the pool. Whimsical white blooms came together with lush greenery to set an enchanting ambience for the occasion, infused with warm lighting from candles, chandeliers, hanging lamps and more. Dressed in elegant champagne-hued ensembles, the couple exchanged varmalas to great cheer, fireworks and flower showers.

Advice for couples
“If you are tying the knot during peak wedding season, finalize your main vendors as soon as you can, and definitely a few months before the date, as the best people get booked fast. My main advice however would be to let go of all the planning stress and just focus on the celebrations when the day comes. It is the biggest experience of your life that passes by so quickly. Looking back, you won’t remember the tiny details that were missed out, but rather the moments you spent with your loved ones.”
