How They Met
Jaspriya shares, “We met eight years ago through a mutual friend and have been inseparable since. At first, we started off as friends and just as Azeez flew off to Australia for his studies, he asked me to be his girlfriend! While it was hard managing a long-distance relationship so early into our relationship, we somehow made it work by talking to each other every day. This surely strengthened our bond as we effortlessly took it to the next level”

The Proposal
Jaspriya recollects, “Azeez took me to our favorite beach spot and popped the big question to me! I was ecstatic, and to celebrate this moment, our loved ones were also present with us on the beach. Azeez lives by the beach while I’m a city girl which makes us different in our perspectives. Despite these differences, I believe we bring out the best in each other.”

Wedding Venue
Initially, the couple had planned on celebrating their wedding and all the events that come along with it in true grandeur but the pandemic caused their plans to change. Jaspriya shares, “Our pre-wedding celebrations were home-based but we still managed to have a lot of fun! For the Anand Karaj, however, we decided to go to Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha in Bangkok where we tied the knot with a limited number of our loved one’s present. Both Azeez and I hail from Thailand, and it is a place that holds many fond memories for us. Besides, the people here are extremely warm and they understand our culture so well!”

Wedding Planning
With a short guest list and several home-based events, planning the wedding was a smooth process for the duo. On the makeup front, Makeovers by Sejal took charge while Koro Films clicked stunning shots, and Pavarit & Co. ensured the decor looked perfect! Jaspriya shares, “Thanks to all our vendors our intimate wedding was super special. Both our families put their heart and soul into making this day memorable for us and I’m so thankful for their support.”

Weddings Functions
Sagan
Hosted at the groom’s house in Pattaya the Sagan was a quiet event where everyone wore colorful traditional hues. Mingling freely with their close circle of guests, Jaspriya looked ravishing in a bright pink and orange gharara while Azeez chose a muted blue kurta topped with a bronze embroidered Nehru jacket.

Groom’s Mehndi
Opting for a classic pastel theme that was sophisticated yet edgy, the decor for the groom’s Mehndi consisted of artistic Indian motifs and dainty blooms. Dressed in a bright yellow kurta Azeez was all smiles as he shared laughs with his best pals and got simple henna patterns applied on his palms too!

Bride’s Mehndi
In order to celebrate her Mehndi event without worrying about smears and smudges, Jaspriya had henna patterned on her palms at an intimate gathering which took place at her Bangkok home. Later, the official mehndi party was hosted at the same venue where a marigold festooned decor was crafted with bright blooms peppered all over the home.

Wedding
Jaspriya shares, “Our wedding took place keeping all our Sikh traditions in mind and for the big day, we had the Gurudwara brimming with pastel pink flowers that added a dash of romance and went beautifully with our outfits. We wanted our wedding day outfits to match, so we chose the same shades, and carefully handpicked the colors of intricate details like the turban, the palla which was designed by JJ Vallaya, and even the pearls on the chunni!”

After the quiet wedding ceremony, the couple then orchestrated a Doli ceremony at the groom’s house where Jaspriya changed into a traditional bridal red lehenga and the newlyweds were showered with love.
