Striking the right balance between elegance and glamour, this couple’s white and pink floral mandap is picture-perfect.

Honouring their traditions while showcasing their love for contemporary elements, Canada-based Jhansi and Raghu’s wedding was a celebration filled with vibrant hues. Planned by WeddingSutra Favorite – The Tales of Tradition, this wedding was orchestrated keeping the couple’s vision in mind while being mindful of their roots.

Wedding Planning
Spearheading the wedding celebrations were wedding planners The Tales of Tradition. The planning team shares, “Since this was the wedding of an NRI couple it was important that their vision come to life while we retained the authentic flavour of the Kannada culture. Jhansi and Raghu wanted the union to reflect the traditions they grew up in alongside sleek modern designs. Jhansi, in particular, wanted the haldi and mehndi to be fun and vibrant. Since her father wasn’t present there was pressure from the bride’s relatives to adhere to every tradition. However, Jhansi was undeterred and ensured everything was as she’d imagined it to be.”

Wedding Functions
Haldi
Following an all-yellow theme, the haldi celebration was adorned with a marigold backdrop, brass urlis and cane furnishings. White blooms were interspersed throughout the decor to add contrast.

Mehndi
Just like the haldi, the mehndi was a home-based celebration. Keeping the setup the same as that of the haldi, the mehndi witnessed bride Jhansi glamming it up for an evening filled with dance and music. Special bridal seating with zari-covered cushions was added to the setup for extra glitz.

Wedding and Reception
Surrounded by greenery and rustic architecture, the couple’s wedding day was a sunlit one. Designed with a variety of pink, white and peach blooms – it resembled an enchanted garden surrounded by a forest of green trees. The wedding mandap was swathed with ivory drapes and embellished with garlands. Meanwhile, traditional brass diyas with pink blooms were placed strategically across the venue.

As the day transitioned into evening, the duo hosted a reception which followed a similar colour palette as the wedding decor. Replacing the mandap was a grand floral arch and clouds of gypsos blooms that were suspended from the ceiling.
