Wedding Planning
For planner Devanshi Patel from Shreem Events, this wedding was a special one with the bride being her sister and expectations being sky-high. However, the team’s skills and the couple’s clarity of vision made the entire celebration a hit! Giving us an overview of the events, Devanshi shares, “There were a total of two days of celebrations in Udaipur. The celebrations began in Udaipur around two to three days before the ones in Ahmedabad In Ahmedabad, there is a strong culture of ‘baithak’ where families get together in their respective venues to have fun before the full-blown events begin.” Since the brides’s family own a stud farm, the couple decided to host a few of their celebrations at their vast farm. Consequently, the planning team made arrangements well in advance for a smooth flow of events. Devanshi shares, “For almost six months before the wedding rollers were run on the land to tighten up the ground. Generators and vanity vans were arranged for portable washrooms. For the final day, the farmhouse was lit up by diyas and lights which were pivotal in giving the venue a magical ambience to enchant the 1500 people on the guest list.”
With her sister being the bride Devanshi felt a rush of emotions as she planned the wedding. “For me, this was an entirely different wedding experience being the wedding planner and the bride’s sister. I had multiple tasks on my plate as a planner while as a sister I was quite emotional. It was heartening to see Jinal walk down the aisle exactly as we’d dreamed and it was a moment that manifested itself beautifully. There were a lot of expectations to be met since it was a family wedding but the entire team pulled it off beautifully”, says Devanshi.

Wedding Functions
Engagement and After-Party
Hosted in Udaipur, the couple’s engagement ceremony was followed by sangeet performances and a banging after-party. Following a decidedly Western theme, this event was attended by approximately 100 guests – the inner circle of both their families. The dance performances were the highlight of this event. The after party was themed ‘A Sky Full of Stars’.

Sundowner Pool Party
The next day, the sundowner pool party was hosted exclusively for the youngsters. With a cool flamingo theme and groovy beats, everyone had a fun time basking in the sunshine and diving into the pool.

Mehndi
Devanshi shares, “Jinal’s dad is an avid equestrian and breeds one of the best horses found in India. For years, the family has pursued breeding horses and hence, the farm has been incredibly close to their hearts. After months of preparation, we orchestrated the mehndi event here with a ‘pastel carnival’ theme. The event included an amazing spread, Bollywood dance numbers, garba and planned entries for the couple. Giveaway stalls with pocket squares, fans, block-printed scarves and handkerchiefs kept everyone occupied. Plus, the 150-year-old mango tree was highlighted at the photo-op spot for the couple.”

Grah Shanti
Devanshi shares, “The Grah Shanti Pooja is an auspicious ritual that spans two hours. Being a close member of the family I conducted the rituals to get the planets aligned in favour of the wedding. This occasion was followed by a traditional Gujarati lunch.”

Haldi
Taking the traditional route, the haldi ceremony was steeped in hues of yellow and white. Vibrant marigolds paired with white and purple blooms added a generous splash of color to the venue.

Wedding
“Jinal’s vision was clear. She envisioned a blend of plush pinks, silvers, and whites, with a touch of modern elegance. We transformed the venue into a fairy tale setting, starting with a beautifully decorated tunnel entrance adorned with pichwai themes and live music to welcome guests. Guests were treated to a unique experience, with illuminated trees lining the pathway and fragrant flowers creating an enchanting atmosphere. To ensure everyone’s comfort, we provided golf carts for easy transportation around the expansive stud farm venue. The whole tunnel was running to the beat of Rajasthani folk music. At the entry lounge, we also had an amazing caricature photo booth for the guests to take back some memories with them when they leave.

Shivam’s baarat was an energetic one with his loved ones and 33 Nasik dhol players. The festivities kicked off with Shivam’s grand entrance with his groom’s squad. He entered on the tunes of the damru inspired by his namesake, Lord Shiva. Jinal’s arrival was nothing short of magical, we planned her entrance in a horse chariot which is an antique chariot that had been acquired in an auction many decades back. It was redone in the colours that suited the décor and had Jinal’s favorite hues – baby pink and gold.

For the antarpat ceremony before the varmala, we added a special Kanku Thappa ritual where Jinal’s side of the family members gave blessings in the form of their hand imprints. This cloth was then personalized with their logo and the date of the wedding and then used as the wedding antarpat. Two hundred kilograms of Kaner blooms were specially flown in from Kolkata for the flower shower instead of the usual roses. Throughout the evening, guests were encouraged to participate in the celebration, showering the couple with blessings and flowers as the bride walked down the aisle. The atmosphere was electric, with fireworks lighting up the sky in celebration of their union. Every detail was meticulously planned, from the elaborate decor, and the personalized photo booths to the seated dining areas for the guests. The venue was transformed into a dreamy landscape, with thousands of diyas lighting up the night,” recollects Devanshi.
