Karishma & Aakash, Juhu Millennium Club, Mumbai
They may have met in an arranged marriage setup, but that did not stop Karishma from 'officially' proposing to Aakash during their fun sangeet ceremony!
The couple didn’t stumble upon love; they found it sitting across each other at their first meeting. Aakash and Karishma’s wedding took place in Mumbai and the grand affair was attended by their family and close friends. WeddingSutra Favourite Happyframes captured all the beautiful memories, and here, bride Karishma shares some highlights.
How They Met
The couple saw each other for the first time at a meeting arranged by their parents. They were the perfect match according to their families, and as it turns out, they couldn’t agree more. Two strangers soon found their soulmates in each other, and while their match was arranged, love soon layered the relationship.
Just like their love story, the proposal happened in quite an unusual way too. It was Karishma who ‘officially’ proposed to Aakash a day before the wedding during their sangeet ceremony. Karishma found the perfect way to do it with a stunning dance performance which ended with her going down on one knee and proposing to Aakash with a ring.
The mehndi ceremony was a traditional affair, and the couple decided to go ahead with a ‘Bandhani and Patola’ theme. The decor of the entire event was inspired by the theme involving two traditional fabric variants, and the bride’s happy glow and emotions were captured beautifully in the lovely photos.
The haldi was an intimate affair with only close family members and friends in attendance. Simoni chose to wear a yellow dress and paired it with pretty floral accessories.
“The sangeet night was filled with glitz and glam. The ambiance matched the wedding party’s mood and brought all the baaratis on the dance floor. We danced our hearts out the entire evening. The celebrations were taken a notch higher with a power-packed performance by the singer, Sagar Kendurkar.”
“Finally the wedding day was here, and we couldn’t be more elated! The color palette for our wedding was peach, pink and white. My favorite has to be the ‘varmala’ (garlanding ceremony) setup, where a make-shift bridge was decorated with hundreds of flowers. We entered from two different ends, and the entire ceremony went on beautifully. It was followed by the traditional pheras before we celebrated the beginning of our life as a married couple at the reception.
