How They Met
Kavya shares, “We have been in the same school since kindergarten and developed a close friendship in middle school. Rohit asked me out in the ninth grade and the rest is history. From being glued to each other through the four years of high school to getting through over eight years of long distance, our love bloomed together in Mumbai and just grew stronger when we lived apart in five different cities in America. Don’t they say, distance makes the heart grow fonder? After over 13 years of dating, Rohit proposed on a beautiful afternoon in Brooklyn, New York.”

Wedding Planning
Planning their wedding was The Vow Weavers who impressed the couple with their organisational skills and foresight. The couple shares, “We had already selected our venue, and most of our vendors, and were only seeking one day of logistical help. I still remember our first meeting with The Vow Weavers, and then going back and forth about getting them on board to execute our wedding. It’s funny how I thought we only needed logistical help, because little did I know it takes an army to plan a wedding! This army for us was The Vow Weavers. They were very hands-on, responsive, enthusiastic, and patient, and catered to all our requests with smiles on their faces. We onboarded them less than two months before our wedding and they picked up things in the snap of a finger. It felt like they were part of the planning from day one. It was truly a pleasure working with The Vow Weavers, they really made sure we got the wedding of our dreams! We are so thankful to The Vow Weavers and their entire team for making our vision come to a reality! Thank you for understanding us, understanding our likes and our dislikes. Thank you for listening to us. Thank you for getting along so well and working so patiently with our families.”

Wedding Functions
Mehendi
Kavya shares, “We kickstarted our wedding celebrations with an intimate mehendi function filled with bright coloured décor, Bollywood music, and lots of dancing. For the food menu, we chose a variety of street food live stations from all over the world, from chaat to dim sums to tacos, we had it all!”

Tilak
In line with Marwadi traditions, the tilak was a traditional event with minimal floral decor. The couple shares, “We hosted the traditional Marwadi tilak ceremony the evening before our wedding day. The highlight of this event was the finger-licking Marwari food cooked by a Rajasthani chef!”

Haldi
At the haldi fun took the front seat as the couple’s loved ones were at their playful best. Swathed in shades of yellow and hosted on the morning of the wedding, this event put everyone in a jolly mood as they geared up for the sundowner’s wedding.

Wedding
Kavya shares, “The sundowner wedding flaunted a minimal, pastel-hued decor. We were keen on embracing the natural beauty of the venue with the sea in the background. Hence, the decor was crafted keeping the elements in mind so that it doesn’t look too manufactured.”
