How They Met
The couple first crossed paths 10 years ago when one of Khanjan’s brothers married one of her sisters. Khushali shares, “Ours is a unique love story of three sisters marrying into the same family of three brothers! Being polar opposites, we didn’t connect too well at first. I’m an extrovert while he’s an introvert! But gradually, as both our families started socializing and we started meeting more frequently, a close friendship blossomed between us. It was over the last two years however that we realized the chemistry we shared. Once we realized what we felt was more than friendship there was no looking back. Soon enough, we informed our families who were thrilled for a third wedding within the same family!”

The Proposal
Khanjan knew how much Khushali had dreamt of getting a dreamy proposal, and he pulled out all the stops to surprise her to sweep her off her feet. Khushali shares, “When he told me to get ready for something special one day, I did have an inkling of something amazing awaiting me. When I joined him at his car, he blindfolded me to my surprise! On arriving at our destination, he led me up the stairs of a yacht. He slowly untied my blindfold, and my jaw dropped when I realized that he had booked an entire VIP deck and filled it with flowers. On the glass wall, golden balloons spelt out ‘Will you marry me?’ Throughout our courtship, both of us would constantly exchange songs with each other, but on the deck he played a romantic song that he’d never shared with me before! Soon enough, he was on one knee, with a ring in his hand and I couldn’t help but utter an excited ‘yes!’ It was one of the most memorable moments of my life.

The enchanting surroundings and sweeping views of the Mandovi River also gave our wedding functions an unforgettable backdrop.”

Mehndi
The 2-day festivities kicked off with a vibrant mehndi function for everyone to relax and mingle. The bride stood out in a sunny yellow lehenga, while the groom contrasted her look in a floral ensemble with a wine colored Bandi jacket.

Engagement
The glamorous Sangeet and Engagement party was imagined as ‘An Evening in Paris’, with exuberant revelries and elegant French inspired décor. The bride and groom made their way in through a whimsical glass tunnel amidst bubbles as their couple song ‘Cheerleader’ played in the background. The bride matched the Parisian theme in a demure white gown embroidered with pastel beadwork, while the groom kept it edgy in an eclectic tuxedo. Guests enjoyed rousing tunes by the talented singer Kashish Kumar, followed by dazzling dance and musical performances by the couple, their friends and family members. A special video performance by Khushali’s relatives who could not attend, wearing their wedding attires, brought tears to everyone’s eyes amidst emotional hugs.

Haldi
The Haldi function was a unique celebration of Royal Rajput Culture, as everyone but the couple donned traditional Rajput attire. The women wore Ghaghara cholis and traditional jewels, while the men opted for Jodhpuri and Bandhgala jackets on colorful kurtas. The bride swapped out the customary yellow for an eye-catching purple Banarasi lehenga, while the groom wore an intricately patterned orange ensemble for the ritual.

Overlooking the calm waters of the Mandovi River, the incredible venue was enhanced with just minimal décor of flowers to keep the focus on the sublime ceremony. The bride dazzled like the sun in a breathtaking yellow and orange lehenga, while the groom complemented her in ivory tones with just a hint of orange.

Advice for couples
“No matter how much you plan, some things will always pan out differently from the way you want, so there is no sense in stressing too much. Let go and enjoy as much as you can. Also, for a memorable and enjoyable destination wedding, it is wise to keep the guest list intimate. And finally, always choose the makeup artist and photographer who are more like friends than professionals, because they are the ones you spend the most time with during your wedding, and need to work according to your comfort and mood.”
