How They Met

Krishna and Rohil first exchanged glances back in 2011 on the first day of junior college. Despite having nothing particular in common, they still felt that they shared similar thought processes and values.

The Proposal
In order to snag a ‘yes!’ from Krishna, Rohil secretly planned a grand proposal on the occasion of their 10th anniversary, where he decided to surprise her with brunch along with their friends who made a show-stopping entry on a speedboat enhanced with colorful pyros. Right at the golden hour, Rohil drove Krishna in a golf cart and walked hand in hand to the proposal spot where they were greeted by their friends who held up scarlet, heart-shaped balloons. As sunset drew near, Rohil went down on one knee in front of Krishna and uttered those four magical words to which Krishna instantly replied with a happy, ‘yes!’

Wedding Planning
Krishna says, “We had initially planned our wedding in Mumbai, but when things got noticeably out of control we felt it was safer to have an intimate ceremony outside of the city. Being a couple who loves experimenting with unconventional things, we had planned unique decor themes for each event. Also, I love fresh flowers and I was very particular about incorporating them into each function.” Gushing about the planning team Krishna continues, “Kkings Events work like pure magic! Having worked with them during the proposal, we knew that they were the only ones who could rightfully justify all our wedding dreams too. The entire team has not only worked relentlessly on getting what we wanted but they also went that extra mile to understand us and our personalities. They heard out each detail we wanted and delivered the same beautifully. Having to change our entire plan from getting married in a city to a destination wedding due to covid guidelines, just a month before our date was challenging – but had it not been forKkings Events‘ endless love and support, it would have been impossible. They stood by us through thick and thin just like family.”

Monil Shah, from Kkings Events shares, “There were multiple delays as the couple was first slated to tie the knot in December which was then moved to April. Regardless of these sudden changes, we were keen on bringing the couple’s vision to life and stood by them despite the challenges! Within twenty days we had to pull up our socks as we planned and executed the wedding. Since Krishna’s into fashion, she was very clear about her likes and dislikes.”

Giving us a brief insight into his experience of capturing the wedding, Shrey Bhagat, Co-founder at Knotting Bells shares, “It was an absolutely humbling experience to work with this father-daughter duo. Seeing the lengths to which a father would go for his daughter was awe-inspiring for all of us. Right from testing before the wedding to sanitization protocols, everything was followed with precision. Thanks to all this, Krishna was able to live her dream wedding, something that’s beautifully been captured in our photographs from the festivities. I think this is one of the first time we’ve photographed such an intimate yet grand wedding, and it was definitely an unforgettable experience!”

Bridal Shower
A vivid affair where the bride celebrated with her gal pals, the bridal shower was filled with joy and was largely inspired by citrusy elements. Equipped with a mimosa bar and table arrangements that consisted of citrus fruits, the entire vibe of the event was fresh. Swathed in hues of yellow, pink, and orange, the entire event spurred everyone to kick back and relax. Details like personalized monstera leaves with the bride’s friends’ names engraved on them, an unplugged singer, and an interactive painting activity made this event a memorable one!

Mehndi
A floral extravaganza in the truest sense, the mehndi hosted under the open sky was filled with color. Krishna shares “Since I have a penchant for fresh flowers, we created a flower bar at the Mehndi which was a concept quite close to my heart. We laid out buckets full of different flowers from which guests could pick the flowers that they liked and make a bouquet out of them to take home.”

Wedding
Krishna shares, “For our Gujarati-Jain wedding, we wanted to keep things traditional but with a modern, contemporary twist. Hence we chose the temple structure with pastel carnations, hydrangeas, gypsos & lots of greens! We tied the knot right on time with the sun setting in the backdrop and it was a mesmerizing sight that I’ll remember forever.” Entering on a boat wearing a scallop hemmed pink wedding lehenga, Krishna was a vision as she gracefully made her way towards Rohil who wore an ivory embroidered sherwani.
