Kritika and Pulkit, Kolkata
Groom Pulkit looked like a prince when he entered his wedding venue seated in a glittering golden chariot.
From casual acquaintances to best friends, Pulkit and Kritika’s relationship evolved over time and entered a new stage when they decided to tie the knot. Check out some highlights and photos of the festivities shot by WeddingSutra Favorite – VS Studio whose team ensured that they captured every key moment of the proceedings.
How They Met
Pulkit shares, “Kritika and I first met at the college examination hall, and since our roll numbers came one after the other, we would often talk in between the exams to discuss the answers. At first, our conversations were pretty casual, but soon a deeper friendship took root. For the longest time, we were the best of friends, and sometimes, our peers also mistook us as a couple which we never bothered to correct them about. Over the years, Kritika started developing feelings for me. However, I was completely oblivious and it took special circumstances for me to realize the depth of my feelings for her. One thing led to another, and four years down the line, we decided to tie the knot!”
Wedding Planning
To ensure that everything went ahead exactly as envisioned, the duo roped in expert vendors. On the photography front, they chose VS Studio whose work Pulkit endorses happily, “I don’t think we could have chosen anyone better than VS Studio. Their unbridled creativity – right from conceptualizing our ‘Save the Date’ video with an amazing stop motion video to a whacky pre-wedding shoot – fit right into our vision. At every turn, their team was present to ensure that not a moment was missed.”
Weddings Functions
Mehndi
Hosted at ITC Sonar, the mehndi ceremony followed a colorful leheriya theme where everyone wore matching pink outfits. Even the decor included pink and peach drapes. The mood was merry as the couple entered the venue dancing to the beats of the dhol.
Bhaat
For the bhaat ceremony, the duo chose to color coordinate their family’s outfits with a yellow and red color scheme. Celebrated with much pomp and cheer, this occasion was replete with fun and tender moments.
Cocktail
Amping up the glamor stakes after a series of traditional events, the cocktail party had a ‘bling’ theme, and everyone turned up in their finest Western ensembles. Dressed in a merlot velvet gown, Kritika unleashed her inner diva, while Pulkit looked dapper in a three-piece suit.
Sangeet
With family members taking on the roles of anchors, the sangeet was a rousing affair with energetic performances that had everyone spellbound. The venue had a spacious dance floor, flashing lights, and a LED backdrop that added a glamorous vibe to the ambiance.
Telbaan
With separate ceremonies for the bride and groom, the telbaan was a close-knit affair with a yellow and orange decor palette that included a profusion of marigold blooms. Kritika was overjoyed when her best friend surprised her by flying in from Dallas for the wedding!
Wedding
Beginning the wedding on a high note was a boisterous baraat ceremony where the groom entered on a gold chariot decorated with colorful LED lights. Surrounded by his best friends who danced by his side, Pulkit channeled his inner Maharaja in an olive green sherwani which he paired with a stole that had wedding verses embroidered on it. Kritika and Pulkit exchanged garlands on stage during the ‘varmala’ function and took their pheras under a mandap decorated with white and red blooms.
Advice For Couples
“Don’t overthink your decisions and leave things for the last minute. Finalize all the important aspects while you have the time and don’t ever compromise on the quality of the services. And while you’re at it, don’t forget to have fun as these moments come once in a lifetime!” advises Pulkit.
