How They Met
Love doesn’t understand differences, only life-changing, serendipitous feelings. It is most certainly true in the case of Kuhelika who was born and brought up in India and her Parisian soulmate, Julian. The two crossed paths for the first time at a common friend’s party in Sydney. Their courtship period lasted for five blissful years and ended on Kuhelika’s birthday when Julian went down on one knee and proposed to her.
Their love stood the test of time, and they decided to get married soon after the engagement. The couple chose India to host their colorful wedding, and they booked the InterContinental Chennai Mahabalipuram Resort as the venue. The spectacular location exudes exotic luxury with its huge pillared hallways and sweeping corridors which served as the perfect backdrop for their photos.
Wedding Functions
Mehndi and Haldi
The celebrations began with intimate mehndi and haldi ceremonies where yellow and orange marigold flowers brightened up the entire venue. These functions were coupled with the official ring ceremony, and loved ones gathered together to bless the lovebirds.
Sangeet
The sangeet was a lively event held at Taj Fisherman’s Cove, Chennai, and brought out Bollywood lovers from both sides of the wedding party. The infectious vibe took over everyone, and guests showed off some impressive moves on the dance floor. The groom’s Parisian family also dressed up in traditional Indian wear for the ceremony.
Pool Party
Before the D-day, the couple arranged a pool party for their guests to unwind. Everyone enjoyed the much-needed break after all the dancing at the sangeet night.
Wedding
The wedding ceremony was hosted at the InterContinental Chennai Mahabalipuram Resort’s private beach which offers a stunning view of the Bay of Bengal. For her special day, Kuhelika wore a stunning pink lehenga with contrasting turqouise borders which she paired with a statement kundan necklace, ‘maang tikka’ (forehead ornament) and a nose ring. Julian chose to wear a blue sherwani with beige trousers. Before the wedding ceremony, the couple posed for their wedding album at different locations within the hotel. The photos clicked by Rohan Mishra Photography were a mix of cute, romantic and funny poses and captured the true essence of their chemistry.
The groom made an entry to the wedding astride a horse, while the bride arrived on a palanquin. The varmala ceremony, pheras and bridal farewell ritual all took place smoothly as loved ones came together to celebrate the beginning of Kuhelika and Julian’s married life.
