Simplicity and glamour went hand in hand at Mahetha Krishnakumar and Guhan’s beachside nuptials. Honouring the couple’s Tamil roots while showcasing their love for modern design, WeddingSutra Favorite – The Wedding Experience planned and designed this remarkable union.
Wedding Planning
Charannya and Akram from The Wedding Experience share, “The couple are based in the US and were keen on keeping everything simple with a dash of glamour. They loved the idea of a beach wedding which honored their Tamil traditions. We were successfully able to give them the best of both worlds as we orchestrated and designed each event keeping their modern outlooks in mind along with the rituals.”

Engagement
For the very first celebration, the couple decided to keep it simple. Charannya and Akram from The Wedding Experience share, “ The evening of the pre-wedding festivities kicked off with the engagement that was simple, but elevated by the backdrop of the beach. This intimate celebration had a see-through backdrop with bright flowers in pink and red hues that were highlighted by the sunset hues of the sky.”
Haldi
Inspired by the beauty of the Amalfi Coast, the vibrant haldi was ushered in the following morning. Charannya and Akram from The Wedding Experience share, “The events started with the vibrant Haldi, inspired by the sun-kissed Amalfi coast. The design combined the flamboyance of Indian prints with the elegance of Italian patterns. Hues of blue, pops of yellow and the luscious green lawn were the perfect setting that almost felt like a summer afternoon in Italy!
With over a dozen hand-picked indigo vases, filled with vibrant flowers along with handcrafted paper hangings – this event was as picturesque as it could get!”
Sangeet
At the sangeet, sophisticated glamour was the flavour of the evening and the planners ensured the couple’s loved ones had the ideal setup to showcase their dance moves. The planning team shares, “Instead of the usual colossal stages one sees at sangeet celebrations, the couple wanted the stage to be more accessible to everyone. Hence, they opted for an almost dancefloor-like stage which was flanked by LED boxes that showcased their pre-wedding pictures. Colorful spotlights and VFX added the dash of glamour to the setup.”
Wedding
Charannya and Akram share, “Keeping the couple’s love for simplicity and vibrant hues in mind, we orchestrated a green and pink Tamil wedding for them. Their love for modernity was also kept in mind with elements, like suspended blooms and brass lotus blooms, while the elders were pleased with the traditional setup.”
