Brimming with vivid colors and customs, Malary and Kishore’s wedding bonanza in Puerto Rico painted a beautiful portrait of their love and heritage. Hosted in the picturesque town of Rio Grande, their celebrations were captured in vibrant shots by WeddingSutra Favorite – Alex Dali Weddings.
How they met
Malary and Kishore’s story began on 515 West 59th Street in New York City, at the gym next to their apartment building where they first crossed paths. Going out for sushi for their first date, they ended up at Dave and Buster’s playing Mario Kart, and by the end of the day, they knew they had a special connection. Their bond evolved into love, and the two got engaged in August of 2021 at sunset at the Brick Farm Tavern in Princeton, one of their favorite outdoor spots.
Wedding Planning
The couple tied the knot at the Hyatt Regency Grand Reserve in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico. Set against the stunning backdrop of the El Yunque rainforest, the location was ideal for a dreamy destination wedding, offering stellar views and atmosphere for each celebration. Their special moments were captured by the renowned team of Alex Dali Weddings.
Looking back at their experience they share, “The photos are absolutely beautiful. We have gone through each one and are in love with how they turned out. The colors, energy, and expressions on the faces of our guests were inexplicable to witness. The team is incredibly talented, and we are so grateful they captured every moment with such beauty.”
Wedding Functions
Haldi
The festivities began with a lively sunkissed haldi function with warm traditions, hosted underneath swaying palm trees with the minimal decor of marigolds. The groom embraced his heritage with the traditional outfit of mundu and kurta, while the bride looked radiant in a bright yellow saree and floral jewelry. The ceremony was followed by moments of love and laughter splashing in the ocean!
Mehndi
The breezy beachside mehndi was a confluence of music and merriment that created memories for a lifetime. The groom looked dapper in a blue velvet sherwani, while the bride opted for a vibrant dhoti saree in ombre hues of orange and fuchsia.
Wedding
Set against the azure seas, the wedding ceremony painted a colorful picture. Flanked by elegant white seating, the floral aisle led to the stunning geometric mandap festooned with flowers, foliage, and billowing white drapes, while statues of deities and other brass ornaments added a touch of tradition to the decor. Baskets of sunglasses, parasols, and coconut water were arranged to keep the guests cool and comfortable through the beach ceremony. The groom flaunted a striking combination of cream and blue, aptly matching the ambiance, while the bride embraced a confluence of colors and textures for a show-stopping bridal look.
Cocktail
The festivities culminated in a vibrant Cocktail function that blended the avant-garde with modern elegance for a unique celebration. The palette of white and gold that covered everything from the decor to the cake was intersected with whimsical splashes of color, as flowers in every shade of the rainbow graced every table. At the center of the hall lay the dance floor, a vibrant mandala of pink, orange, and violet that tied the room together with a beautiful nod to their Indian culture.
