US-based Mansi Manoharan and Zeb Armstrong celebrated the coming together of their families and cultures with a heartfelt celebration of love. Planned by WeddingSutra Favorite – The W Code, their traditional Kannadiga wedding saw intimate revelries and simple yet stunning decor. Watch it all unfold below.
How they met
Zeb, a Native American from Vermont, and Mansi, a Kannadiga from Bangalore, crossed paths on the online dating platform of OkCupid. Mansi, who was using the platform to recruit people for her intimate frisbee team, never imagined she would meet her future husband out of the blue. Fate however had other plans for the two, and so began their journey of love.
Wedding Planning
The beautiful, natural landscape of The Peacock Grove, Bangalore was chosen as the backdrop for the traditional Kannadiga Wedding. Situated right next to a lush peacock forest, the festivities were also graced with the glory of their sounds, while the courtyard architecture, stone Mantapa, repurposed doors, and more added to the earthy aesthetics of the wedding. The team of The W Code transformed the couple’s vision into a beautiful reality to give them their dream wedding.
Wedding Functions
Mehndi
Kicking things off on a lively note, an intimate Henna night was hosted in the courtyard of the property. Plush cushions in vibrant prints decked the steps for laidback seating, while the colorful decor and string lights set a cozy vibe. The bride looked radiant in a peppy pink lehenga with a flower crown that matched the floral swing, while the groom sported a cream and orange kurta set. The bride and her loved ones got their hands painted with henna while warm toasts and karaoke filled the night.
Haldi
The next morning began with a traditional haldi ceremony after a spirited game of cricket between the bride and groom’s families and a baby welcoming party for their twin nephews, that was full of fun and colors. The haldi setup was a minimalist lover’s dream come true, with a serene backdrop of banana leaves, ornate urlis, and a breezy canopy of white drapes and marigold strings. The bride and groom wore matching outfits for the ritual as they were showered with turmeric, flowers, and love by their friends and families.
Sangeet
The Sangeet soiree was a celebration of all things rustic and boho to honor Zeb’s beautiful hometown of Vermont. Earthy tones, pampas grass, cane furniture, and string lights cast a tranquil ambiance over the night. The energy however was turned up a few notches with non-stop music and enjoyment as the couple and their loved ones danced their hearts out. An avid dancer herself, the bride set the tone with a memorable entry with her cousins.
Wedding
A beautiful misty morning set a magical tone for the wedding ceremony. Held with Kannadiga customs, the serene occasion saw tons of flowers, lotus installations, a jute canopy, idol statues, and more, while the aroma of rajnigandha and roses filled the air. The celebration saw a heartfelt melding of the two families, as Zeb’s American side of the guests embraced the beauty of Mansi’s traditions.
