Maysie and Farhaan, Mauritius
The romantic beach setting was an ideal way to exchange wedding vows; warm sand under their feet and a gorgeous view of the Indian Ocean in the background.
A meeting set up by mutual friends blossomed into everlasting love for Maysie and Farhaan, who tied the knot in October 2019, amidst the serene sun and sands in Mauritius. The duo’s love story is reflected in these beautiful pictures captured by the ace photographers at Little Miss Clo Photography. The same team also undertook their pre-wedding photoshoot earlier last year.
Wedding Venue And Planning
Maysie says, “The wedding itself comprised four events spread across three days at the Heritage Resorts Bel Ombre in Mauritius. We wanted each event to be a different experience for our guests so we chose a variety of locations, different cuisines and traditional ceremonies that incorporated our Indian and Mauritian backgrounds. Apart from this, we also wanted our experiences of the different places we have lived in to bereflected in our wedding celebrations.”
A welcome dinner at Gin’ja Restaurant by the beach at the Heritage Le Telfair Golf & Wellness Resort started off the celebrations. Guests were treated to Chinese, Japanese, Malaysian and Thai food. The couple added their favorite dishes to the menu for all the guests to try. The evening was relaxed and easy with a saxophonist enhancing the chilled out vibe of the party. Colorful beanbags and pallet furniture was laid on the sand for guests to sit back and enjoy the incredible sunset. Maysie wore a beautiful polka-dotted beach dress by Missoni for the evening, while Farhaan kept it breezy in a plain white shirt, maroon chinos and sneakers.
Mehendi, Sangeet and Haldi
They chose to merge three ceremonies into one grand event at the Heritage Le Chateau, Bel Ombre, giving their friends and Farhaan’s family an authentic Indian wedding experience. The mehendi function started with the bride’s side serving Mauritian and Indian street food, along with coconut water and nimbu pani, to the groom’s side. It was a day filled with memorable moments as friends and family danced their hearts out at the sangeet. The decor was made up of quirky signs and bright colors that perfectly matched the bride’s multi-colored and sequined lehenga. Farhaan sported an orange kurta and a tie-and-dye jacket. The night concluded with a combined haldi ceremony, where the couple made a stunning entrance in matched yellow ensembles by Akanksha Gajria.
The couple had a nikah ceremony early in the morning in the lush gardens of Bel Ombre. All their guests and the couple themselves were dressed in white. The ceremony was written and officiated by Farhaan’s brother, making it even more special for them. Farhaan and Maysie chose to write their nikah contract, making the ceremony even more intimate and meaningful. Maysie looked elegant in a white anarkali set by Kanika Kapoor’s House of Chikankari, which she paired with a beaded necklace and a maang tikka with green stones.
The celebrations were rounded off with a beach reception and a surf-and-turf menu, ending the splendid weekend by cutting a three-tiered cake. The ambience was relaxed and, because the groom believes food always tastes better when you can feel the sand between your toes, most of the guests were barefoot within a few hours of arriving at the venue. The decor consisted of fairy lights, white blooms and lots of greenery, making the venue look serene and dreamy. The newlyweds took a walk by the beach in matching navy blue outfits; Maysie wearing an impressive ensemble by Arpita Mehta.
