How They Met
Mishika shares, “Naman and I first met in a typical arranged marriage set up through our parents. And, soon after, we decided to meet again without our parents’ knowledge to avoid any pressure that may come from their side. It didn’t take us long to realize the chemistry between us and slowly we started meeting up more often which led our friendship to blossom into love! Our parents were absolutely surprised when we shared the news with them and quickly got engaged.”
Wedding Venue
Sharing their process behind choosing the right venue, Mishika shares, “We went through a plethora of venues and scouted for a long time before we came by the Taj Fisherman’s Cove Resort and Spa. For us, this venue was love at first sight as it’s located right by the beach with lovely cottages and villas that gave one stunning view of the sea. Paired with Taj’s impeccable hospitality, this property was an absolute winner for us!”
Wedding Planning
Once the duo had zeroed in on the venue, they rapidly started planning the wedding. And, acknowledging the importance of having a skilled photographer in their team, they selected Jodi Clickers who left them impressed. Mishika shares, “When it came to picking the right photographer, we again went through many options but in the end chose Jodi Clickers who left us awed with their amazing cinematography skills. Working with them was a rewarding experience and they made everyone feel comfortable. Each of their pictures has captured every emotion perfectly and we would happily work with them again!”
Weddings Functions
Welcome Dinner
To kick start the celebration the duo greeted their guests with a delicious welcome dinner and an intimate mehndi where close friends and family gathered together to get henna patterned on their hands.
Mandap Mahurat and Mehndi
Mishika recollects, “We had a quiet mandap mahurat ceremony where we conducted pooja with our parents. However, later on, we also had a boisterous mehndi ceremony that gave us beautiful views of the beach. Replete with games and dancing it was a fun-filled event.”
Sangeet
“The mehndi function was followed by a sangeet that took place in the evening. Surrounded by blooms and LED candles, it was a glamorous event where everyone shook a leg freely as the band Bollyjammers enchanted us with their tunes.”
Haldi
“Following a traditional South Indian theme, the haldi was swathed in hues of yellow and gold. And keeping the theme in mind, everyone dressed up in a South Indian attire which complemented the decor. Post the haldi ceremony, a South Indian lunch was also spread out for guests to enjoy.”
Wedding
Hosted by the beach, the wedding ceremony was simple yet elegant with a mandap decked with delicate pastel-hued blooms. Surrounded by dainty gold chairs with the gentle sea breeze blowing around them, Mishika and Naman basked in sunlight as they tied the knot.
Reception
“After the heartwarming wedding ceremony, we orchestrated a sit-down reception by the lawn where all of us enjoyed the same day edit video of our nuptials. An acoustic night on the beach followed the same, where everyone reveled under the starry sky.”, shares Mishika.
