An ode to Rajasthani culture, this couple’s mehndi decor featured textile art like leheriya and bandhej along with local prints.
Celebrating their love tradition with a dash of glamour, Monika and Shubham’s union at the bride’s hometown, Jhunjhunu in Rajashthan waa a beautiful affair. Photographing their wedding was WeddingSutra Favorite – Oragraphy who with their expertise captured colourful shots saturated with emotions.
How They Met
Monika shares, “We first met in 2015 while pursuing our postgraduation courses. Shubham was always nice to me and we spoke frequently as we discussed our studies and the future. We felt an instant connection with each other and as time passed by, we became good friends. One thing led to another, and today we’re life partners!”
Wedding Planning
Memories of the wedding day are one of the most important things for a couple. And, to make sure that all their adorable moments were beautifully captured, the duo chose Oragraphy who with their eye for details didn’t let a single emotion slip by. Monika shares, “We wanted our wedding to be an unforgettable one. While there were many chaotic moments, team Oragraphy went ahead with the utmost clarity. Their professionalism, eye for detail and knack for setting everyone at ease is reflected in their work. Everything was just perfect and they clearly gave it all their efforts. When the events picked up the pace, they made sure that nothing was missed. Honestly, we couldn’t have asked for a better team.”
Weddings Functions
Mehndi
Monika shares, “On the first day, we hosted the mehndi where all our loved ones gathered for a fun-filled event with a vibrant and colourful outdoor garden décor. The mehndi theme was mainly about traditional colourful Rajasthani prints with bandhej and leheriya being used generously.”
Sangeet
Monika shares, “The sangeet was hosted after the sunset and the night was filled with glitter which matched the theme which was ‘glamour’. All the guests were dressed up in shimmery and chic outfits. Everyone danced and performed their hearts out and it ended with a heartfelt surprise from my father as he had prepared a slideshow that included my childhood photos and my life’s journey till now.
Haldi
The bride shares, “We has an extremely fun haldi along with a bridesmaid photoshoot where everyone was wearing colour-coordinated outfits. With the DJ playing foot-tapping beats, we had a gala time!”
Wedding
The bride recollects, “The wedding against the backdrop of the palatial architecture of the Alsisar Mahal in my hometown, Jhunjhunu, was traditional with dashes of modern grandeur. As the sky was painted in shades of dusk, we tied the knot in a traditional ceremony lit up by fairy light and cold pyros”
Advice For Couples
The couple shares, “Forget everything else and go with the flow. Have as much fun as possible.”
