How They Met
Montek is a businessman from Odisha, while Navneet works with an NGO called Zero Gravity. The couple encountered each other via family friends and began chatting on social media. After months of getting to know each other better virtually, they decided to meet and their first date eventually led to a sweet, heartwarming and intimate proposal. Yes, you might want to keep your ‘awws’ ready to go.
The Proposal
Montek and Navneet met at Taj Falaknuma Palace for their first date. It’s not often that a first date leaps to a happily-ever-after but Montek is one to set new precedents. He gifted the love of his life an anklet. Why did he ditch the usual solitaire ring for this traditional piece of jewellery? Turns out, he knew, in the old days men would present anklets to the one they wanted to marry and spend the rest of their lives with. That is quite special, isn’t it?
Wedding Venues
The picturesque locales of Lavasa, built on the lines of the Italian town Portofino, made for a stunning backdrop. The area has many recreational and sightseeing options and is accessible from a few big cities, making it the perfect getaway for the wedding party.
Welcome Dinner
The couple wanted to spend some time with their guests before the hustle of the main festivities so they set up a delectable welcome dinner at Ekaant – The Retreat.
Mehndi
The mehndi was held at the ITC Fortune with its great outdoor setting for the ceremony held in the day. The aesthetic inspiration was the Kite Festival as the event was held on Makar Sankranti. The couple wore complementing outfits and looked picture-perfect together. Navneet’s colorful floral jewellery and accessories enhanced the entire look.
Cocktail and Ring Ceremony
The Lavasa International Convention Center was where the couple hosted this soiree. They decided to combine the cocktail and sangeet with their official ring ceremony making it a three-in-one celebration. The theme for the evening was ‘Amber Black’ with decor accentuated with crystals and lights. The good-looking duo were ready to party the night away with their family and friends who had gathered to celebrate the union.
Anand Karaj
The traditional Anand Karaj ceremony was orchestrated at the Promenade, Lavasa and was as dreamy as it gets. The decor of the stunning venue matched the pink tones of the blushing bride’s outfit to perfection. Montek and Navneet wore color-coordinated ensembles for their big day as they vowed lifelong love and companionship, their family and close friends standing beside as witnesses to the auspicious milestone.
