Nikhil and Roshni, Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park, Thailand
A rainforest, some butterflies and the elegance of white inspired the decor elements at Roshni and Nikhil's charming Bangkok wedding.
Nikhil and Roshni were neighbours, but became a couple only after their families decided to play Cupid! Here, the bride takes us up, close and personal with all that unfolded at her beautiful Thailand nuptials that was meticulously planned by WeddingSutra Favourite – Shanaya Celebrations.
How We Met
“Nikhil and I met in High School, but both of us went to different international schools in Bangkok. Fortunately, we lived in the same vicinity and met through our families. We started dating about five years ago and our bond during these years convinced us that we were perfect for each other, and with that, the sound of the wedding bells became clear to all.”
“We hosted our wedding in Bangkok as both of us were born and raised there. We picked a hotel in the city center as we had over 100 guests traveling in and we wanted to make sure we were based in a convenient location. Our functions took place at home and at the Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park”
The wedding festivities kick-started with a butterfly themed mehndi hosted at the bride’s house. This was an intimate affair with only the close family and friends in attendance. Besides the bridal seating, they had a beautiful setup of flowers designed to exude a very lively and refreshing vibe.
A ‘Rainforest’ theme is what the couple wanted for their sangeet, and they achieved this with the help of lots of floral installations. They had a larger-than-life setup that was created around the couple’s seating area. The venue was well decorated and the lighting arrangements added to the mood of the evening. The couple looked glamorous in their color-coordinated pure white ensembles for this evening. The excitemet of the guests was quite high and what took it a few notches higher was DJ Ash’s exhilarating performance.
The decor for the wedding included elements in shades of gold and pastel such as drapes and flowers. Everything was aligned with the vision that the couple had in mind. The theme for the big day was traditional and with fresh florals, drapes, quirky decor details, and LED lights; their wedding planning team brought the bride’s vision to life. Roshni opted for a quintessential red lehenga for the auspicious ceremony, and Nikhil donned a regal red and gold sherwani.
The couple wanted their reception to have a Western vibe, so they went with white decor elements – think flowers, leaves, ruffles, drapes in white, and a few touches of foliage, all of which looked mesmerizing. The bride’s designer of choice for this evening was Anita Dongre, and she wore a blue gown with intricate floral designs on it for this stylish function.
