How we Met
We were introduced by common friends in April 2016 and after a couple of months of constant texts and calls we finally met in July that year. I travel a lot for work but our common love for food, travel, adventure, and sitcoms, kept us in connected even when we were miles apart.

We soon started dating and whenever we hung out, there was a bond that felt unique. We both moved to Singapore in January 2017 on work and as we traveled around South East Asia we realized we were ready to make it official – to tell our families we’d found The One.

Wedding Venue
We wed in Jaypee Greens Golf & Spa Resort, Greater Noida. We saw other venues as well, but this was the one that had everything we wanted.

Wedding Planning
The whole wedding planning and shopping required frequent trips back to Delhi from Singapore. We had to finalize vendors, outfits, and jewellery and hold dance rehearsals! We managed to have a pre-wedding photoshoot in Singapore, around the iconic Marina Bay Sands, Merlion and Botanical Garden with Vive Lamour Studio.

We’d already shortlisted a few wedding photographers but Morvi Images came highly recommended by our friends, our wedding planner and their reviews are fantastic. Looking at the work now, I can safely say that it was probably the best decision we took.

Let me begin by saying that Morvi captures moments that other photographers will probably miss. They’re moments you may have missed yourself – so fleeting – but you remember them when you see the pictures. I have laughed and cried going through all the photos and videos, even four months after the wedding!

Morvi becomes the bride’s best friend! She is always by her side, especially on D-Day. She has taken shots of every fun, emotional, loving moment that I experienced during the entire wedding week. From twirling, dancing and jumping on the bar, to crying in my father’s arms, looking at my fiancé from the corner of my eye, and me getting emotional during the kanyadaan – she captured it all. Be it the “boss bride” pictures or the “get me out of here” moments, she didn’t miss a thing!

It is true that a wedding becomes a lot about the bride, especially her look and I spent a lot of time and effort in making sure I looked like a million bucks, but when I saw my photographs, this is what I said, “Morvi has made me look like a supermodel. In fact, I don’t think the Manish Malhotra and Sabyasachi Mukherjee outfits do justice to the work that Morvi has done!”

Her team was fabulous and they ensured that all the family members and close friends got their individual camera time as well.

Wedding Functions

Cocktail
We wanted to have a function in Delhi for friends and relatives who could not make it all the way to Greater Noida. So we hosted an evening of dancing and drinking! The function was held at Sanskrit Farms and the rose and black decor made the night look so glamorous. The rich drapes and warm glow added to the beauty of the setup.

To kick off the evening, Aman and I danced to Sugar by Maroon 5. At the function, we had Bombay Rockers perform for our guests and everyone had a great time dancing to their Bolly-Punjabi music. DJ Shadow later took over the console and was outstanding with all the mixes that a Delhi crowd needs.

I wore a midnight blue gown by Manish Malhotra and Aman opted for an outfit by Line, by Shamim Khan.

Haldi
This was my favorite day. It was sunny, fuelled with lots of interesting cocktails and sheesha! After the Haldi ceremony, I decided to do a quirky photo shoot with just my bridesmaids and it is something I highly recommend every bride plan. I danced in the most comfortable clothes which I’d designed and had a local boutique in Gurgaon produce. I wore minimal makeup. Later in the day, Geetanjali covered my hands in a beautiful mehndi design which took about six hours to finish!

Mehndi
At our mehndi function, Aman and I entered the venue to the beats of the dhol and danced our hearts away! The place was decorated in the brightest colors and was evocative of a carnival. We also had family performances at this event but the highlight was undoubtedly the time when Aman and I hopped on top of the bar to display our best moves.

Sufi Soiree
It was magical – a night resplendent with soulful songs and mesmerizing performances for our loved ones. The entire venue had been decorated in white flowers including aromatic tuberoses and lots of candles in glass holders. Guzzler by Shruti Pathak made the evening memorable with a blend of ghazals and contemporary music. I wore a gold outfit by Astha Narang.

Wedding
We had our wedding in an open-air setting and the venue was decorated with fresh florals to create a romantic atmosphere. I wore a traditional red lehenga by Sabyasachi Mukherjee and paired it with jewellery from Surans Jewellers of Jaipur. There is a funny story to our wedding. We decided to have early pheras and an after-party, but everything was delayed and my vidai only happened at 2 a.m., so we missed our own party!
