How They Met
Nishta shares, “We met ten years ago during Jagriti Yatra which is a non-profit initiative. It’s a 14-day, 8000-km entrepreneurship train journey to inspire youth to become entrepreneurs. I was feeling very homesick towards the end of the journey when my friend who was accompanying me found Vishnu who was also from Coimbatore. The thought of having another person to converse in Tamil was so exciting to me. We had an instant connection when we started talking!”

Wedding Planning
The couple shares, “Looking back at our events, everything feels like a dream. Everything was planned in a matter of two-three months. We wanted to bring our entire story and our experiences, the story of #VishNish to our guests. Every event was curated based on the cities we had been to and resonated the most with us. Entertainment, food, favours, outfits to every detail revolved around our themes.”
To capture their wedding which also reflected their journey of love, the couple chose Hiraaya by Aayushi. Nishta shares, “Hiraaya by Aayushi came in as the sweetest surprise during the wedding planning. They were so quick to understand exactly what I was looking for. Once you tell them your requirements, consider it done! From candids to capturing moments that matter, they were fabulous.”

Wedding Functions
Haldi
The couple shares, “Our haldi was an amalgamation of our traditional Indian haldi with a twist of Spanish flavours. Inspired by our visit to Spain and the festival of La Tomatina, we gave a twist to the regular haldi. A haldi painted in red with flamenco dancers, big heads and more! The highlight was the Tomatina festival for the guests.”

Sangeet
The next stop on the journey was Vegas! Nishta shares, “This was an evening of bling and style. From quintessential Vegas-style Cirque du Soleil to energy-packed performances by various artists and family and friends, it was a night to remember! No Vegas trip is complete without a shot at the Casino and we had that too, as guests played at the casino and won gifts at our auction.”

Mehendi
Contradictory to the previous celebrations, the mehendi event was intimate and focussed on taking time to honour friends, family and the couple. Set around the theme of chikankari style paired with vintage English colours, the ambience set a perfect tone for the afternoon. The event was complete with lots of love, happy tears, heartfelt speeches and happiness.

Reception
The city of Budapest also marks a special place for the couple. Inspired by the carnivals hosted in this European city, the reception resembled an intriguing yet elegant reception party. With its carnival-like mood, the guests were entertained till the wee hours of the morning.

Private Train Party
The couple shares, “The wedding being on the lands of the mighty Cholas, the journey of our guests had to resonate the same. The concept of the train is the journey backwards from 2023 AD to 900 AD. Our private train that went from Coimbatore to Thanjaur within six hours and was filled with our enthusiastic guests looking forward to each stop had unlimited entertainment! Authentic Tamil Nadu-style group drumming with a Parai to board games, our guests had it all. The evening ended at the banks of Kaveri with a soulful Kaveri Aarthi, music and fireworks.”

Wedding
The couple adds, “The final stop to this beautiful journey was in our very own capital of the mighty Cholas, Tanjore. The Tiruvaiyyaru temple is decorated with the most beautiful local and sustainable elements like wheat, rice, turmeric, sacred threads and many more. The wedding was preceded by the elemental procession that paid respect to the five elements of nature through musical instruments and dance performed by artists who carry the age-old art forms even today. The wedding was a traditional Tamil Nadu-style wedding with our loved ones around us.”

Advice For Couples
Nishta shares, “Everyone these days is trying to make their wedding beautiful. This is the one time that you get to celebrate, be at the forefront of everything and give yourself importance and it matters. Put yourself first and go all in. Feel your passion and do whatever it takes to satisfy yourself first and of course the family. It’s not all about the money but doing things in a way you’re satisfied with.”
