Exuding elegance and a stunning fusion of cultures, Paankhuri Sharma and Abhiram Reddivari’s wedding was a glorious treat for the eyes. Encircled by the lush beauty of nature, their wedding was planned and decorated by WeddingSutra Favorite – The W Code who were in tandem with the duo’s ideas and enchanted all eyes with their execution.
How They Met
Paankhuri shares, “We first met in Bangalore during our undergraduate degree and in no time, became the closest of friends. We’d spend entire days together exploring different lunch and dinner spots in the city. We connected over good food and our bond just strengthened as we moved to Auckland to pursue our respective master’s degree. Shortly after, we moved in together and it’s been a beautiful journey from thereon.”
The Proposal
Paankhuri shares, “After five years of dating, Abhiram proposed to me on a winter holiday to South Island in Queenstown. I had no clue about his plans as he took me on a helicopter ride to see the ranges and the snow. On reaching the peaks, I asked Abhi to take a picture of me against the scenery with my back to him and as I turned around, he was on one knee and asked me to marry him! Additionally, it turned out that the lady on the chopper that I thought was a fellow tourist, was the photographer, and the pilot was in on it too as he gave us a bottle of champagne to celebrate the special moment!”
Wedding Planning
Behind every beautiful wedding is a hard-working wedding planner, and in Paankhuri and Abhiram’s case, it was The W Code. The bride shares, “The W Code team was just amazing to work with. They were willing to work all night and they did so till the very end to make our dream a reality. Their planning was seamless and the execution was simply beautiful and in tandem with what we wanted. The wedding venue was filled with enchanting songs, mogra and lotus blooms, pastel hues and an overall feeling of love in the air.”
Weddings Functions
Sangeet and Mehndi
Hosted outdoors, the Sangeet and Mehndi were colorful events where the bride was surrounded by her best pals as she got intricate henna patterned on her palms.
Wedding
Paankhuri shares, “The Wedding theme was pastel, which went beautifully with the natural greenery surrounding the venue. All the blooms in the decor were chosen to coordinate with our outfits and exuded a spring day vibe. Our Wedding rituals were in line with both our cultures with two pandits overlooking each phase of the wedding. Plus, our outfits were also a reflection of our culture. Both Abhiram and I hadn’t seen each other’s outfits and the venue’s decor till before the wedding day. So it was a jaw-dropping surprise for us when we both revealed our looks to each other and gazed around the venue. It was such a surreal experience.”
Reception
After the wedding, the couple decided to host an outdoor reception where they had a gala time mingling with their loved ones and celebrating their first day as newlyweds.
Advice For Couples
Paankhuri shares, “Our advice to other couples would be to enjoy the process completely and not get too invested in the little details, as a natural look has its charm too. My biggest tip is to not forget to laugh and smile.”
